Okay, a while ago i saw a post about editing out menu's from MSN Messenger.

Now, I looked at MSN 6.2 and saw the code and stuff, but it would be a bit easier if someone told me where i needed to go, and what was safe to edit out :/

I am getting rather attached to ResHack :D

Sorry, yea, I can wait for a few days.

I mean, like, certain things in the Menu's (in 6.2 a lot of the "Actions" i dont use) and in the convo window (like Launch Fun and Games - which i NEVER use), and the new Nudges and stuff, I dont want them there really :/

Thanks,

Pete

he wants to edit the menus to make it look like MSN Messenger 7.0. just save yourself the reshack, and download MSN 7 ;)

but you can EDIT out the menus. you can copy and paste them where ever you like. add new buttons where you want, make one master menu if you want too. it IS safe to edit the menus, but not in a different .dll

Thats all pretty simple to remove or change, but your going to have to give me specifics so I can tel you how to do each one :D

lylesback2, It can be done just as easily with 6.2, its just that no one really did it ;) besides msn7 actualy has more buttons he wont use .

btw what do you mean "different" dll? all he has to touch is msgslang.dll and msnmsgr.exe :blink:

Okay, in MSN 6.2 (I will practice on this one first) I want to take out the button: Fun and Games (in the convo window). If I can remove this button, then the rest should be easy to see and know how to do.

Another thing, MSN 7 specifically, is that I would like to edit out the Nudges button/tab.

My friend says a simple Registry Setting will stop them being sent from other users to me (I dont want them at all!) so is this possible?

Thanks,

Peter

from memory :

to remove the fun and games button open up reshacker and search

atom(launchpadbtn)

and you should see :

  	<cmdbutton cmdid=40310 id=atom(launchpadbtn) class="TaskbarBtn" layout=borderlayout() AccName=rcstr(60036) AccDesc=rcstr(44030) ShortcutString=rcstr(60036)>

    	<png localized=false layoutpos=top flip=false idres=809 contentalign=topcenter class="TaskbarIcon" />
    	<element layoutpos=client padding=rect(2,-1,2,2) contentalign=bottomcenter content=rcstr(60036) />
  	</cmdbutton>

You can either remove those lines or set the layoutpos to bottom (and that should make it dissapear)

firstly for msn 7.0 you can just use a HEX editor to remove nudges

go to the hex location: 000D1F5A, which should have a value of "69" you need to change that to 00

you can even edit out the text for nudges by opening up mslang.dll in reshacker and searching for the "you have just recieved a nudge" and removing the string (then you wont even know it happened .. except for a blinking light on your taskbar)

to remove the button from your client

search for

id=atom(buzzbtn)

and remove these lines or once again you can change the layout pos

                        <cmdbutton cmdid=689
                                  id=atom(buzzbtn)
                                  class="ToolbarBtn"
                                  layout=flowlayout(0,2,0,2)
                                  AccName=rcstr(699)
                                  AccRole=57
                                  AccDesc=rcstr(700)
                                  >
                           <png flip=false padding=rect(2,0,0,0) idres=911  class="ToolbarIcon" />
                       </cmdbutton>

    • OpenAI is making Codex more useful in Chrome and the cloud by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI's Codex now has more than 5 million users, up nearly 4x from earlier this year. To further accelerate Codex's growth among developers, OpenAI today announced that it has agreed to acquire Ona, a company that builds secure cloud execution and orchestration technology for developers. Ona will enable developers to run Codex with persistent and controlled cloud infrastructure for long-running agentic workflows. Right now, most Codex execution happens locally on developers' laptops and PCs, and the agents work continuously for hours. Through Ona, OpenAI aims to make Codex agents keep working for days without being tied to a user’s local machine or an active session. This will be an important capability for enterprises that want to deploy AI agents in production while maintaining control over infrastructure, data, security boundaries, credential scope, logging, and review workflows. Like any acquisition, the deal is still subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. Until the deal closes, OpenAI and Ona will continue to operate as separate companies. After closing, Ona’s team will join the Codex team to improve developer workflows. Alongside the Ona acquisition announcement, OpenAI today introduced a few Codex updates. Developers can now save Codex rate limit resets and use them later instead of losing them when they are not needed immediately. OpenAI is also adding a referral option where users can invite a friend to Codex and get a saved rate limit reset. OpenAI today also announced a developer mode for browser use in Chrome and the Codex in-app browser. With this mode, Codex can use the Chrome DevTools Protocol to debug web apps, inspect pages, and work more directly with browser-based development workflows. Developers can use this when they want Codex to profile JavaScript, inspect console output and network traffic, examine web page states including the DOM and applied styles, and more.

    • yeah it seems to be Edge only. The dialog buttons work as expected in Chrome and Firefox. The phone is using Android 16 (OneUI 8.5) and Edge version 149.0.4022.53
    • I'm not aware of this issue, but to help the other guys. What version of Android are you using? Did you try a different browser? To see if Edge is the issue here.
