Hey guys, new to Crni's CDcover suite for samurize. I can't seem to get it to work properly. It doesn't load any information or any album cover art.

I got my winamp in E:\Program Files\Winamp and my samurize in E:\Program Files\Samurize

And my songs are in my F:\My Music directory.

Am I suppose to have a specific filename for the cover album picture?

Thanks.

A long time ago I figured out Samurize worked the best if I had it on C drive... As most people have it. And as most people who make widgets configure them to as such.. :) So I learned to just use the C drive for using Samurize... Too hard to go edit every config file for all the different widgets around.. Could be thats your problem.. Or did you edit the cd covers config file to run from E drive?

Are you trying to use existing covers you have? I just let samurize download them.

I got a folder in Samurize called "Covers" where it gets downloaded too and when my musics playing it grabs the coverart from the folder.

There should be somesort of config like this where you can configure the covers etc

is this your first time using samurize? The first time i tried the cdcovers with minicontrol was a success, then i uninstalled it, then installed samurize again, but this time i uncheck all of the option of samurize on the installation process (icons, taskbarclient, etc) Then installed minicontrol, but it refuse to show the album art and the song. So i reinstall samurize without extra icons, skin, and taskbarclient, total of 11.2 mb installation. Everything was normal. So did you untick anything on the installation process of samurize?

Well I tried minicontrols with samurize. Same problem.

This time I can activate the forward and backward buttons. But I can't get the thing to show the information! Not even the tags show up. So either minicontrols or samurize isn't reading the id3 tags or something.

No, there's nothing wrong with finding any .dll file. I tried putting cover.png in the album folder and still nothing.

C:\Program Files\Samurize is where my samurize is

C:\Program Files\Winamp where winamp is

F:\My Music\Album\blah.mp3 is where the song is, and in this folder contains folder.jpg, folder.png, cover.png

and so far none of them work.

I've been customizing the CD Covers to my own tastes, and was wondering if there is any way to automatically center text? I'm using CD Covers with Winamp, and in the following screenshot, I have a Winamp skin (emanon) that just provides controls.

I've edited the cdcovers.ini file to move some things around and change colors. I want to know if there is a way to set the alignment to "center" for the song title and band name. I'm new to samurize (just installed it yesterday), but coding is no sweat for me. So I'm not a total idiot.... just new to the samurize scripts.

Thanks, I think it's a really cool setup too.

Winamp skin: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/13591962/ (using the "DA Colors" color theme)

Samurize script: http://www.spuler.us/temp/spuler.zip (you have to have CDCovers installed, I just included the 2 files I modified).

    • Anyway to download these versions without being on the Experimental builds?
    • Nothing is stopping you from continuing with your testing cadence. If updates are released every 2 weeks instead of 4, and you test once every 4 weeks, the exact same amount of patches will still be available for you in those 4 weeks. For example: Before 4th week - patch 1, 2, 3, 4 After 2nd week - patch 1 and 2 4th week - patch 3 and 4 Still the same amount after 4.
    • Everyone else has said it. I'm gonna say it - you don't know what you're talking about. I do. I have two laptops. One work, one personal. I have access to two more laptops - both personal. At home I manually update my personal laptop when I see on Neowin that there is an update - I carry on and only apply the updates when I am ready. My work one only updates when my workplace decides to send it - I carry on and only apply the updates (when they actually arrive, which is usually days after the release) when I switch off the laptop at the end of the day as usual. The two other personal laptops only get updated when I get to it which is rarely - the people who own them carry on using them until I get to it and update them. All of the browsers on all laptops are configured to restore the tabs when launched. Google and Microsoft have changed from 6 weeks to 4, and it looks like it's going to move to 2. None of these changes affect how any of these browsers on the laptops are used. Not one jot. My advice to you is stop panicking whenever you see an update. Just carry on with what you're doing. This even benefits you in a way - from your comment you sound like you don't like the changes or the frivolous new features - great - then carry on as before!
