How do disable Startup Applications

Recommended Posts

I am wondering how I can find the list of start-up applications and system tray icons start-up list and if I can remove them.

I have several applications & start-up system tray icons that come up each time I boot up my PC, I dont like it. There is no option to disable it in the application itself, nor is it placed in the "Startup" Folder in the Start Menu.

How can I disable these? They are applications I have installed such as the ASUS Probe, DeskJet 845c Help Info Icon, etc.

Thanks in advance,

- Nathan B.

If you want to remove them from the startup location rather than just uncheck them there are three possible locations:

1) Startup folder

2) HKLM - Software - Microsoft - Windows - Current Version - Run

3) HKCU - Software - Microsoft - Windows - Current Version - Run
