according to canon's site, the g5 only comes in 5 megapixels. but i could be mistaken. where did you get your g5 at?

A85 is a great camera. I bought the S400 when it was on it's last legs and being replaced by the S410 and S500...I have moments of thought that I should have waited for the A85 for the swivel LCD screen and a few extras more. Oh well.

Maybe it will be my next camera purchase :)

soloredd, are you saying the a85 has a swivel screen or that you would like to see that feature added to it? i know the g5 does and i love the feature to death, its very handy.

to the people who said they had a powershot a85, i was wondering if possible you could take pictures of all sides of the camera somehow...mabye with a webcam or another digital if you have one. i'm very curious to see what the rest of the camera looks like. every site i've checked has basically the same picture (the one i posted).

A85 is supposedly really great camera, however the A95 has the swivel screen and one more megapixel up, and a slightly larger screen as well I believe. I dont remember too well all the specifics, I was doing research on them because I thought I might ask for one for christmas.

I just got the A85 and it is probably the best camera for the best price out there... great manual controls and really good looking point and shoot - it practically does the work for you. Also a very good quality movie mode i'm very impressed by it...

This is how Canon did it though - The Powershot A80 is the model with the metal body and flip out LCD screen. This model costs more... so the A85 is like a cheaper version without the metal body and flip out screen but with practically all the same features other than that. The Powershot A95 has the metal body and flip out LCD screen... but costs a lot more for the extra megapixel than the A85 or A80 so that is why I went with the A85 over the A95 and A75. It was definately the best value and I'm sure it will last a long time ;)

Battery life is awful though... I went through 8 batteries already in two days :| I got some rechargable NiMH batteries now for a really good price 25 bucks CAD for 4 and a charger (Energizer...) so those are supposed to last 3 times as long as Alkaline.

Cheers!
