GNU/Linux January Desktops

It's my first attempt for an OS other than Windows. :p

I treid to make use of gDesklets or gkrellms, but both of them are so ugly compared to Windows widget applications such as AveDesk or Konfabulator.

Can anyone recommend good widget software for Ubuntu?

Anyway, don't make fun of n00b's desktop!!

Quite pretty desktop :) . You can try superkaramba or torsmo. anyways if some of existing gDesklets doesn't look pretty enaugh you can make new ones/edit existing ones.

Your desktop is nice-looking. I am rather partial to light grey desks, as you can see by my post in this thread, here.

Lots of friendly *nix people here (and just a few cranky ones to make it interesting)! ;)
