New Ipod Goodness

i occasionally get that rainbow coloured effect but its not permanent  i will be sat at home using my ipod and i dont notice it even if im looking for the rainbow screen effect its not there, but if im out and about i tedn to notice it then ;) what causes that raindow effect anyway ?

lol, sell th ipod and all the accessories and buy a 20GB 3g.

youll get a smaller, lighter, cooler better ipod, and several hundred in your pocket.

you can spend that several hundred on songs.

No he won't. The battery life is worse, the 3g's weigh more and have larger dimensions. Not to mention any 3G now will almost certainly be a refurb or second-hand of some sort, carrying no Apple warranty, except maybe AppleCare.

Electronics dont work like antiques. The longer you take to sell it, the less the item will go for. Your ipod is not a collectors item and it will never be. The U2 edition cant even be considered a collectors item because its widely sold everywhere.

As for people saying sell it and get a new player, i'd have to agree, but if hes so excited over it then let him be. Personally I'd never waste money on an ipod, especially not an ipod photo or the u2 ipod. Its all just a marketing scheme.

Anyways, congrats on getting all that stuff, i guess...?

sigh, i wish people would lay off the fashion/trend ###### argument against the iPod. sure some people may use it as a fashion item (ie. fashion conscious girls and trendy guys) but the majority just want a great and arguably the best mp3 player available.

style and usability in electronics is a product of good design. apple just capitalized whereas samsung, iriver, et al. continue to strive towards it. sony is almost there with their newest offerings...

just because the iPod has a lot of marketing behind it and high market share doesn't make it trendy. using that logic, consider windows. where are all the "you're all trend ###### using an inferior operating system when you could use nix or osx instead" statements?

if you want the iPod, get it. if you don't just get something else and be happy.

Some of you need to chill out. He got an iPod and is excited to show it off. It obviously meets his needs as far as portable music goes, so why bash it? As long as he is happy with it, then kudos to him. Your personal opinion of the iPod will have no affect on his useage or joy and really only serves as a poor attempt at beating down Apple's often "elitist" attitude with an elitist attitude of your own.

    • Yes for me, I installed 'old calculator' (Windows 7 calculator) in its place since it is more useful to me. I think paint is the only one I left installed
