Couldn't find image for shader 0

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

I have searched the Internet and searched Neowin for help, but did not find anything. I purchased MOHAAB today for $5, brand new at Electronic Boutique (yes, I know the game is old, but I bought it for my nephew) anyway, the game installed fine, and I pass the first level (of course I'm gonna play it :D), when the game starts the second level, the console opens automatically with the following error message:

Couldn't find image shader 0

The game does not work anymore. Please look at the picture. What is that? Could someone help me?

Computer specs:

P4 2.8GHz w/HT

Asus mobo P4S533

Running XP with 1GB DDR RAM

64MB nVidia card & like 11GB free HD space.

TIA

/EZ

P.S.

The first time I installed the game, ran it without the patch 1.11 and it did the same thing, so I went ahead and installed the patch thinking it would fix it, but no luck.

I'm gonna answer my own question :D

Found the information on EAGames website.

Question

Why does the game crash with an error about not finding an image for shader 0?

Answer

The error ERROR - Level::AllocEdict: no free edicts or Couldn't find image for shader 0 is caused by three things.

* The wuss cheat code entered in the console. The weapons spawned by this code will cause the error, and result in a crash to the main menu when loading the next mission. We recommend that you not use this code when playing the game to minimize any further issues.

* This could also happen if you have installed any game mods, using other cheats or additions to the game that are not supported by Electronic Arts.

* If this is not the case, it's may be because the install files were corrupted.

In these cases a clean install will be desired. This will clear the game entirely off your system, allowing you to reinstall the game without corruption.

I couldnt edit my last post, but it did not work. I did have the cheat codes in there, but removing it, did not do anything. Started level 2 and the same thing happened, the console open automatically with the error message. I'm gonna remove the game like EAGames says (step by step).

No one has received this error message using the cheat codes provided on different places on the Internet?

TIA

Ok. This is the final answer. I had to manually delete the whole game like it said in EAGames, and now the game works fine. I guess once I added the cheat codes to the shortcut executable I had created, it corrupted the whole game.

Thanks

the cheats added to the shorcut dont corrupt the game , they just make the console available for entering commands & cheats .......but anyways you will need to reinstall & remove the shortcut with the cheats in it .

Whatever happened, it did corrupt the files, because once I removed the shortcut.exe, the original icon was not working either, it would come up with the same error.

That's what I did. Removed the whole game manually, including registry keys. Did a fresh installation, and its been working after that. :p

    • SMPlayer 25.6.0 by Razvan Serea SMPlayer intends to be a complete front-end for MPV/MPlayer , from basic features like playing videos, DVDs, and VCDs to more advanced features like support for MPlayer filters and more. One of the most interesting features of SMPlayer: it remembers the settings of all files you play. So you start to watch a movie but you have to leave... don't worry, when you open that movie again it will resume at the same point you left it, and with the same settings: audio track, subtitles, volume... Other additional interesting features: Configurable subtitles. You can choose font and size, and even colors for the subtitles. Audio track switching. You can choose the audio track you want to listen. Works with avi and mkv. And of course with DVDs. Seeking by mouse wheel. You can use your mouse wheel to go forward or backward in the video. Video equalizer, allows you to adjust the brightness, contrast, hue, saturation and gamma of the video image. Multiple speed playback. You can play at 2X, 4X... and even in slow motion. Filters. Several filters are available: deinterlace, postprocessing, denoise... and even a karaoke filter (voice removal). Audio and subtitles delay adjustment. Allows you to sync audio and subtitles. Advanced options, such as selecting a demuxer or video & audio codecs. Playlist. Allows you to enqueue several files to be played one after each other. Autorepeat and shuffle supported too. Preferences dialog. You can easily configure every option of SMPlayer by using a nice preferences dialog. Possibility to search automatically for subtitles in opensubtitles.org. Translations: currently SMPlayer is translated into more than 20 languages, including Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese.... It's multiplatform. Binaries available for Windows and Linux. SMPlayer is under the GPL license. SMPlayer 25.6.0 changelog: Fix play/pause button. Some fixes to stop the screensaver on Linux. Fixed some issues related to disc playback. Various bug fixes and stability improvements. Yeah, right! Microsoft is still trying hard to convince everyone about everything it makes...
