Hi everyone,

My first post has to be a problem :D

Well before I installed SP2 the UxTheme patcher worked perfectly with no problems at all. The other day I decided I should update to SP2 for some reason  (maybe I should go back to SP1?)

I had to re-install the UxTheme patch and it worked at first but now when I restart my PC it goes back to windows default classic. Has anyone had this problem? is it something in SP2?

Thanks for any help.

Youll need the correct UxTheme for SP2. If you use https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=140707 one, run it in safe mode and it should work :)

Also make sure there are no other uxtheme.dll files on your C:\ drive as SP2 can sometimes makes backup files when it installs and when you try and replace a file the backed-up files replace the patched one with the original.

Any futher help ask me or insanskiwi in the thread dreamz mentioned

Kelsenellenelvian, Arhhrhghrgh safe mode IS NOT needed

Ok guys. I restarted in safe mode, logged into my account, ran the uxtheme.exe (latest version) and it said "switching back to original theme.dll file" or something along those lines anyway :)

I had to run it again to patch the file because it went back to the original file ?_? It's working fine right now, restarted a couple times and it's workin like a charm. Now if it does it again I'm going to shoot a monkey ><
