Starting time is very slow now with the iRiver HD filled up :)

Try defragging.

Also, if you keep data files on it, It might be wise to repartition it into 2 partitions, 1 for music, scanned by the player, and 1 for data, so that those files don't bog down startup time.

Dreams, are u by chance using database mode?

and bingham, no it is not discontinued.

I don't know.

When I got the player i just upload my mp3 using the data port and put all my mp3s on the player.

so by using other mode other than database mode make it faster?

can i upgrade my h320 to korean firmware? I have the US firmware right now and want to play video. will it screw up US radio, and other features?

yes you can upgrade, and no it won't screw up your radio, and it is in english.. the only thing is you will loose the "media" port to sync with media player, since the other versions use that port to sync with cameras and not with media player. Also once you upgrade to a non US firmware and flash back, you will get an error duing start up, it only says that the DRM key was deleted, it doesn't make your player start up time any slower or mess up anything else. DRM has something to do with protected media files.

i really want to get this, but it has been discontinued right?

NO! they're only discontinued at BestBuy, why would they be discontinued

How is the video quality when you watch anything? Is it choppy or really smooth?

I dunno I run on database mode with about 500 songs and it loads in about 3-4 seconds..
