Newb Icon Q

Can I install these ico icons without any 3rd party software? Sorry for the newb question, I just got into xp customizing :D

Like XP-Icandy, how do I install them without using a program like stylexp. Like if I want to change my drive icons, folders, etc. How do I do it?

Hmmm well ok, basically how do you install icons? :) do I replace something like how you have to use UxTheme to use custom themes?

I'm not exactly sure how you'd do it without the aid of a 3rd party program, I do know that with a shortcut it's just a matter of pointing to the *.ico that you want it to use but I'm not to sure on things like system icons. The only thing I could think of is using resource hacker but even then I wouldn't know where to even start.

Personally I use Icon Packager but it's Shareware...

replace icons manually?

rightclick and change it. or goto folder options->filetypes ;)

iconphile is a freeware iconchanger.

lol well I knew the right click propertise but I wanted to change all the folder icons throughout the system. So when I make a new folder it will be the one I changed it to.

Some dont like to be changed also.
