Since people here seem to be too narrow-minded to think of anything other than Apple and Creative, here's a nice change:

We've been talking about the iRiver which isnt an Apple or Creative product

I'm sick of your attitude, young man.

Damn kids.

Get off my lawn.

I aint even on your lawn and I'm sick of your attitude, did you even read the thread before posting as we werent just talking about Apple and Creative

Nevermind back to the topic :)

Yeah I heard good things about the iAudios but I would still stick with an iRiver

Wouldnt change my iPod for anything. Exactly what I want - not crammed with stuff I would never use such as radios, mics and other stuff. And so perfectly easy to use. And about the batteries loads of people dont uderstand lithium batteries. If you use them for like and hour then charge and keep doing this you wear them out really quick and they loose their life. What you want to do is run the battery as close to flat as you can everytime before you charge it up. (even better run it flat everytime) This was you get the most out of them and it increases life so dramatically its unbelievable. They are just like phone batteries. My dad who had the same phone as me and we got within a week of each other charged his phone up every couple of hours beacuse he needs his phone and whenever he gets the chagce he puts it on charge as he has to. As he never really gets long periods to charge the battery. So it never really falls below 80% charge before it gets charged - and then he charges for about 20mins and goes off again. Anway with my phone I let the battery get about 95% empty before I charged and then put on for several hours until fully charged. The result - his battery now lasts about 2 hours before having to be charged as the battery has gone flat and mine lasts over a week :p. And no its not a battery with a defect as all 8 of the phones hes had has done this - but he relies on his phoen and this is how he has to charge it so he has no choice.

So ignore what people say about the batteries - if you know how to look after batteries properly they last ages.

well really the bset method is to just use it and not charge it till its near empty, like when u arent using it, just leave it asleep instead of charging it. the battery is capable of 500 charge cycles before it begins to show degraded life. That means if u were to have it completely charged everyday and empty it that same day and have it completely chareged the next, it would last u bout a year and a half. If u were to do this every other day, it would last u 3 years, and so on and so on. So if u want to make that thing last, just dont charge it till its needed, and if possible when charging it, dont let it complete a full charge. Chances are, the battery will out live the hard drive.

Back on topic, i really dont have quite a say in this since all i have is an iPod, but i would probably go with the iRiver. It is an awesome thing with an awesome price tag. I personally dont need all the stuff on it so i just went with the iPod, but if u are looking for something different, IMO go with the iRiver.

i really like the iaudio, but my brother wants it, so im going to let him have it

do you have a pricing of the X5?

585238692

Hopefully they'll have an estimate tommorow (or btw. 6th to 8th Jan.).

Also, if you don't want video playback or picture viewing, there's supposed to be a M5 too (to replace the M3). The M3 is IMO the best mp3 player currently availble in N.A., so if the M5 improves on the M3 design... *drool* :woot:

i guess i will wait for a bit and see what the price is and specs. the thing which is keeping me away from the iriver is the look and size of it. Its bigger than the iPod Photo, and thats like a brick! :p

how does the iRiver iHP-120 differ from the H320?

585239427

Well, the H3xx series have a gd colour lcd screen , can view pictures and videos. Can record songs directly off the radio. Few fixes, supports syncing with WMP10. And can have an external batterey pack for longer listening :) There are loads more, just cant think of any atm

Get the lite version and pick up a dock. Wait on the remote, as the H3x0 remote with the LCD is going to be released very soon. (It's only available in Korea and Japan atm.)

Here's a pic of the new remote:

https://www.iriver.co.jp/images/ecommerce/a...ry_77_large.jpg

i dont really care for the remote too much, if i need it that much, i would buy it in the future. rIaHc3, you said that you were going to get it, so what did you get instead?

585245156

If you dont care for remote of cradle, I would get the Lite version of 320 :), remotes can be brought for cheap in future anyway , same with cradle :)

care to share? apart from the atrac issue, which has been sorted.

585246207

Wasnt about the atreac, was at first but isnt the case now, read some reviews online and some forums , cant remeber now, but they had audio issues, playing issues, durability and the interfance, not very easy to use and irritating at times.

    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2 to finally get one of the most requested features by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft officially confirmed Windows 11 version 26H2 with the latest build, 26300.8697, for testing in the experimental Insider channel. The company also published more details about it mainly directed towards IT admins and system admins. Essentially version 26H2 will be delivered via an enablement package (eKB) over Windows 11 25H2. If you are wondering about some of the upcoming features in the next Windows version, one of them is certainly very interesting as Microsoft has confirmed it is finally bringing one of the most overwhelmingly requested features ever. March Rogers, the Partner Director of Design at Microsoft, recently highlighted some of the Search improvements that the company is testing, and during the interaction with users on X where he posted it, Rogers also confirmed that the company is working on disabling web search results inside Search. This is something which many users find quite annoying as Windows would often serve them links to Bing which it feels could be more helpful rather than bringing up the actual object or app the user may be searching for on their PC. Finally though the company is prioritizing local file search over the web. However the feature could not be disabled for many users as not all new features are immediately rolled out to everyone. Image via phantomofearth (X) Windows enthusiast phantomofearth who likes to dig deep into new builds uncovered the IDs you will need to enable these features. Using the following feature IDs the new Search-related features landing in Windows 11 26H2 can be used. Follow the steps below to enable the new Search experience on Windows 11 build 26300.8697: Download ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the files in a convenient and easy-to-find folder. Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin). Switch Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile with the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut or by clicking the arrow-down button at the top of the window. Navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files with the CD command. For example, if you have placed ViveTool in C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive. Type vivetool /enable /id: and press Enter. Restart your computer. If you change your mind and want to restore, repeat the steps above and replace /enable with /disable in the commands on steps 5 and 6. Delightedly and perhaps also expectedly, once you disable web search and other such bloat, the Windows 11 Search is said to get snappier as remarked by another Windows enthusiast Xeno.
