iPod influx

Recommended Posts

ha, my pre-calc teacher doesnt care if i listen to my zen micro, as long as i listen to the lecture first, and then do at least one problem in class.  i actually finished an assignment in class once!!! :dj:

Wish they gave us that freedom :s

wow, incredible. it's been a few years since i was at highschool, but in my last year more and more people had started bringing laptops and other bits of technology to school. ipods aren't exactly cheap, it's interesting that highschoolers are being given this much money for things like that (on such a large scale)

anyhow, when one ipod gets stolen, that'll lead to new rules at the school restricting them, ruining it for everyone. or teachers will get ****ed at students listening to music instead of their lessons

at my school, people aren't supposed to use devices such as audio players or cell phones in the building. people just do it anyway, its their own fault that it got stolen or whatever happened to it. still in high school, we're not allowed listening in class or in hallways or library, etc etc (anywhere in the building basically)...if (certain) teachers see you wearing earphones, depending on how their mood is and what their general reputation is, they will either take it away from you (call your parents, keep it for a period of time), or others will just not care.

but, in some students eyes, they think its only possible to listen to music from an ipod (users of other mp3 players do NOT do this) unless they are holding it in their hand for everyone to see.

i used to live in bham, i was first out my school to have ipod.

went to college first again.

moved to wales.

first again.

wherever i go people seem to get them after they see mine. i'm like a sales pitch i swear.

i'm sooo buying something else soon because i dont want to be stuck with all the clones.

what else works on mac?

I've never tried the headphones, are they extraordinarily good or something?

No. They're not. Simple as that, I'm afraid.

They're ok but a decent pair (EX71s, Shure E2Cs) completely blow them out of the water. Even modded Koss "The Plugs" would be better, I'm sure.

At my sister's School more than half of the people have iPods. They're 4th-6th graders!

A mix of iPod minis, U2 iPods and 4G iPods. Apparently there is only one kid who got some other mp3 player for christmas and he hates it.

I think Apple did an excellent job with the iPod. Almost everyone in most Schools has one or wants to have one, including 4th through 6th graders in Mexico. Seriously, why would a 4th grader need an iPod?

i have a ipod and i have for 7-8 months now and when i was at school only 1 or 2 people had them now i left school and work i see hundreds of white earphones on the street in town on busses and traines but hey atleast i use mine and have 2,600 on my 15Gb 3g ipod and i love it

I hear ya man :( I wouldn't know about schools but everytime I'm out it seems that everyone has white earphones hanging from their ears. I have a 40gb 4th gen and I actually use it, I don't show off with it and I haven't even used the white earphones I got with it. I just cant believe that kids are getting 40gb iPods and putting 40 songs on there! They should be shot with a nail gun repeatedly :pinch:

The only reason i purchased an ipod is so i wouldnt have to waste cds transfering stuff from my friends computer to mine. I probably get like 10 gigs worth of stuff everytime i go over. For it being an mp3 player is just plus for me.

Everyone has their reasons and not everyone is getting them because everyone else is.

So b4 the holidays me and like 4 other kids at my school had iPods (that i knew of)

Yesterday was our first day back, and lo and behold, almost everysingle kid has an ipod. Out of close to 1000 studends like 1 in 8 had the tell tail white ipod headphones hanging from their ears.

Same here. About 5% of our student body has iPods...that I know of.

Same here. Seems like a lot more people at school are carting them around. A large part of it for me however is because of the new Apple store that opened up in the new mall where I live. It's only a matter of time before a few people are careless and they end up in the Lost and Found. :shifty:

This maintenance-focused release includes bug fixes, updated translations, and a range of safe enhancements. This release fixes a Windows security issue that could allow arbitrary file deletion during privileged cleaning (reported by Zeze with TeamT5). It also adds new cleaners (including a DNS cache cleaner, Claude Code, and Visual Studio Code forks), support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles, new deep scan options for developer directories like node_modules and venv, and safer, faster file shredding. All Platforms Added cleaners for Claude Code, DNS cache, and many Visual Studio Code forks. Added support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles. Chrome can now clean downloaded AI models. Deep Scan can optionally remove venv, __pycache__, node_modules, and .angular directories. Deep Scan is faster by skipping directories on the keep list. File shredding is safer, faster, and leaves fewer recoverable traces. Improved handling of cookies, symlinks, Unicode filenames, external processes, and configuration files. Improved Expert Mode warnings and long warning dialogs. Fixed crashes related to cleaner detection, invalid Unicode, and malformed cleaner data. Clipboard is now cleared automatically after shredding files via paste operations. Linux Added AppImage support. Added cleaners for Visual Studio Code, Codeium, Librewolf (.deb), Transmission (Flatpak), and Profanity. Improved Linux trash detection, including Snap-installed applications and mounted drives. Fixed Wayland root CLI issues and several Snap-related problems. Improved package dependencies, AppStream metadata, and desktop file handling. Fixed startup crashes when Python Requests is unavailable. Windows Fixed a security vulnerability that could allow arbitrary file deletion when cleaning with elevated privileges. Added %WindowsSystem% variable support. Improved clipboard clearing using native Windows APIs. Improved installer experience on unsupported Windows versions. Reduced installer size and improved application robustness. Fixed Unicode handling, filename anonymization, Git revision reporting, and splash screen stability. • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
