I just got my new iBook, and i see a small blue dot on my screen. Is this a dead pixel? If it is what can i do about it?

I've had dead pixels on my Samsung LCD monitor, but they were black, this one is bright blue(very noticible).

If i cant get rid of it, i guess i can just put the hard drive icon over it(it hides it somewhat).

Any ideas though??

dude putting an icon over a dead pixel doesnt "bury" it

an icon is made up of pixels so if u put an icon over a dead pixel there's bound to be a dot

hey i said something intelligent for once

gotta make it up

what u do to fix it is take it to where u bought it, hand it to the guy and accidentally trip him so that they have to replace the whole thing, and give u lots of other goodies like maybe and ipod if u make a big enough fuss

like this: I DONT BELIEVE UR SO ****IN CLUMSY MAN U SHOULD BE FIRED THIS IS AN OUTRAGE I EXPECTED GOOD SERVICE AND THIS IS WHAT U GIVE ME!!! MAN IM GONNA POST ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT HOW ****TY THIS PLACE IS AND ULL GO OUT OF BUISNESS!!!!!!! I NEED COMPENSATION!!!!!!!!!!

Calm down. Sounding intelligent? Maybe in your world....

It's true that you cannot bury it, but like WinMacLin said, it will make it less noticable. I have a green one... I use a green or white background, problem solved. It never shows up on white.

Apple won't fix it for 1 pixel, so if you really want to return it, take it back to whoever you bought it from (if it wasn't Apple) and try to exchange it, or just return it, get your money back, and go to another store.

Create more dead pixels and then return it. Once I had a laptop that had a dead pixel on arrival. I dropped it from about 2 meters, which created a lot more dead pixels! (like half the freaking screen, not to mention it smashed the hard disk amoung other components). I got it replaced the next day.
