tlogank
Hi, I just got an iPod and I really like it, but I do not @ all want to use the iTunes software. I was wondering what all alternative software is available. I know about the Winamp plug-in, and it works ok, but are there any others that might be better? Matt
sorry, but what does that have to do with my question? 585262038 you asked about alternative ipod software and in your description you stated that you didnt want to use itunes. so in response i suggested wmp10 which you can use to organize your media, buy music and listen to your tracks on your device. now if i didnt answer your question, sorry, then may i advise that you word your question a little differently so others, such as myself, would understand what you are specifically looking for. kitchenutensils
wmp10 is irrelevant because it doesn't support iPod ######; i'd use iTunes still if i wer u but its ephpod otherwise Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/268972-best-alternative-ipod-software/#findComment-585262420 Share on other sites
Hills420
My wifes 2Gen ipod came with Musicmatch. I recently upgraded to Real MP 10 and it instantly popped up when I connected my new 4Gen ipod. I guess you could use that... I personally prefer iTunes. To each his own... Syphonic
I prefer iTunes if all the source music is coming from CDs. If it is coming from...elsewhere then ephpod is the way to go, especially as it imports winamp playlists so easily. And yeah, this should be in the Portables section or w/e it's called. Steve
My bad, I just thought the since the iPod was made by Apple and it is a piece of hardware, that is should located in the Apple Hardware Discussion...don't know why I would have thought that? 585263238 Don't suppose you took the time to notice the parent forum is called... Macintosh Customization & Support - So this forum is for All Apple Hardware, that is Macintosh related. Unfortunately you're beef has absolutely NOTHING to do with Macintosh computers, so this is infact in the wrong place, as StevoFC pointed out. I don't suppose you happened to notice the stickied thread, posted by Chad, at the top of this thread too, did you? Well if not, now is as good a time as any... https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=262792 Here's one click i just saved you, i've quoted the content of that thread... From now on, ALL Ipod discussion and/or support threads should be posted in the Mobile Devices forum. We realize the IPod can fit into both Apple Hardware and Mobile Devices, but the MD forum was made specifically for items such as the IPod. As well as for organizational purposes, it makes no sense to allow posting of the ipod in two different forums. The Apple Hardware forum, from now on, shall be used specifically for hardware support/discussion related to Apple computers.
