First off it says $6.95 Subscription for people who are not already Fileplanet Subscribers, so do not get scared by that price if you are indeed one as this fee does not apply to existing subscribers.

Okay, I am a geek who actually paid for Fileplanet awhile back, so I actually already signed up for this beta and got my key, as I am curious to see what it is about.

I did a little research, and I see that there was actually a S.W.A.T. 3 game out over 5 years ago now, so I was wondering if anyone ever played the older one, and/or has anyone given this a try yet?

It sounds promising, but then again since I am hooked on Counter Strike:Source like a Crackhead right now it is going to take alot to impress me.

This game looks quite cool actually, unfortunately I ain't a subscriber:((. If you download it Dirty Larry, be sure to post what its like plus screenshots:))

Definitely Will.(Y)) Already downloaded it so as soon as this pain in the ass thing called work is done for the day I plan it checking it out, so I will post some screens and give my initial feedback later on today.

Sweet:)) Can't wait, the few beta screens which we saw before looked quite nice. Can't wait to see this version.

Well my man, I did not forget about you. Just like you said, I couldnt wait to see this game either, and guess what? I Never Did See It.:

I am not sure exactly why, but this demo simply refuses to run on my computer.

I launch the game, and it gets stuck on the Black And White screen with the SWAT 4 logo and never gets any further.

I uninstalled the game, reinstalled it, and the same exact thing.

On my 3rd attempt, I actually let it go for a Half An Hour, as I read on the Vivendi forums that it took some time to load, but just as I thought would happen, nothing at all.

I tried 4 times and the same thing over and over and over, it would just freeze my entire computer on the first screen, So I had to hold down my power button and force restart my comp all 4 times.

I easily meet the suggested specs, so I am thinking it is probably a compatibility issue with my Graphics Card, which is a BFG 6800 Ultra OC, and/or the fact that I am not using the official WHQL'd drivers and using the beta 71.24 drivers.

I searched the Fileplanet and Vivendi Forums to see if anyone else was having this problem, and I guess since it is still a Beta, any real tech support is limited to none as a result of it being a beta. I did find one guy on the Vivendi Forums who had a similar issue, and all he got was a response from a developer that said "we have made a note of this bug."

Maybe if I am feeling really bored I will try going back to the official Nvidia drivers, but I really dont know if I will as they work like a charm for everything else.

If I cant figure this out by early tomorrow night at some point, I will PM you the key I got and the URL to download it from, as someone might as well enjoy it.

I guess they dont call it a Beta for nothing. ;))

Also to everyone else, I am definitely curious to hear if anyone else has tried this specific download and trial from Fileplanet out and got it working.

Guys, I want some screenshots! :p Feed my desire!

(I want to know if I should start up my subscription again or not)

Here's some Screenshots (Y)

And i suggest you DON'T sign up mate, SWAT3 was a super title in my eyes but they ruined this Beta i'll tell you :(

Okay.

I finally figured out what was wrong with the beta not working thanks to the VU forums in which I decided to sign up on. It had nothing to do with the drivers i was using at all.

Turns out I had to manually set Norton's Firewall to allow the game to access the web, which is strange because usually it asks you for permission which it never did.

Anyway, I should have just listened to my main man DoNuTs?, because he was/is EXACTLY right about this game.

It definitely does play like a Valuesoft game, the best word to describe it IMO is Bootleg.

I could go on and on about what I do not like about it, but I will just say this... maybe others will like this game, but I have a strong hunch not to many people will.

I may give it another shot, and if I do, I will take some screenshots then.

Basically though my suggestion is do not waste your time on this beta unless you really have nothing, and I truly mean nothing, at all to play. And it is definitely not worth it to subscribe to FilePlanet just for this, there is no doubt about that at all.>

Ahh, thanks for the heads up, guys. :)

Damn shame about the game, though. With Ubi Soft taking Rainbow Six in the direction it's going (shift towards lack of realism, greater mainstream appeal), I was hoping S.W.A.T. 4 could fill the void as a full on realism, team oriented game. A shame indeed.

someone want to lend me their cd key if they hate the game and will never play it, because i want to try it out, and a lot of people seem to not like it.

i dont have a dredit card so i cant get the subscriber account, i would but i cant, and i really want to try this game

thx in advance

I must say, this is probably the best game that has come out in a long long time!

VERY fun and very realistic. Much better than I anticipated... the VIP escort, with all of the non lethal weapons and sneaky gameplay with all of the smoke grenades, pepper spray, and tazer guns is very very fun. Can't say it enough. Even the graphics are great for a game that hasn't gotten a whole lot of airtime, and very repectable.

This game actually has realism to it, with realistic walking speeds and weapons, as well as accurate model damage, so you walk slower when you have been shot in the leg and such. Also it is just so funny to see people being sprayed with pepper spray by the VIP who is in a white outfit, and then having the VIP try and desperately run away :p haha too good....

I love how when you walk it is a realistic speed, and also when you walk backwards or sideways, you walk slower. Also up and down stairs you go slower, which may SEEM very slow, but actually is very realistic.

Great game! I can't wait until it is released, and I don't know what you are all saying about it being not fun or a waste of a download. This is much more entertaining than just running around in a deathmatch style game like HL2DM or something unrealistic like COutner Strike.

    • How does it compare to the "SeeStar S30 Pro" and the "Vespera PRO 2"?
    • Indeed. And note that those units are MUCH cheaper than this new Steam Machine...ahem.
