k700i or 7610

Recommended Posts

My choice would be SonyEricsson K700i. This is more matter of taste than hardware specifications. Reason I would choose SE is that it has proven itself to be very stable phone with stable platform. Nokia has always had some issues with their phones while SE has not. I had a lot of phones and I must confess that SE phones have proven to be the best!

seriously, i know a lot of people have been saying the k700i but the 7610 is so much better. the k700i rivals the 6230, this is a much better phone. the camera is top notch, its symbian os (which means it'll run real apps) and can take mmc cards (1gb storage for your mp3's etc...)

dont ask me anyways, just compare the features. in the uk the k600i is much cheaper than the 7610.

It's not the battery life that sucks, per s? - but more the battery meter.

Ooh and some have reported 40% more battery from the new firmware, that or they fixed the meter!

Besides. With your K700i you'll want to charge it daily as the new Li-Ions prefer SHALLOW charges, and full depletion can be harmful and damage the battery! So recharge often!:))

I'm using the latest firmware for my K700i - and I get a good 4-5 days charge, even with BT switched on all the time.

Ok so we don't have a symbian OS - but in a style phone all you need is a bit of functionality, which the K700i provides nicely.

again, you can't really compare these phones directly.

I wouldnt say it was slow.

There is a short delay etc, but believe me you can live with it. I haven't even updated my firmware yet either!

Hint: Get it on Orange as you'll then be able to update your firmware, certain providers don't let you do so.

I hosted a forum on my webspace for a while - http://www.k700world.info - didn't last long but there's a load of info there, including firmware change logs and compatability.

Just my 2 cents - have used the K700i for over 6 months now. Battery life is over 6 days, no firmware upgrades here. No delay in the menus as reported by some people. Going for a P910i soon now - it's the only phone I could possibly want to swap my baby for ;)

Granted Nokia has market share, but a Sony is a Sony !

    • There is a lot of reasons not to use Edge but faster fixes and security updates is not one of them.
    • Can't reproduce. I installed Edge, went to neowin.net > accepted the cookie consent > used menu to go to forums, everything loads and I can browse around the forums. If you can't interact with the dialog on the forums for some reason, go to the main site and accept the cookie consent there? It is true that the site will not function properly until the cookie consent is accepted or rejected,. it's a legal requirement and I also know that certain VPN/ad blockers block it, which is a user related issue and not a neowin.net problem.   This is not our cookie consent dialog. Gotta love browser hijacking... /s Edit: this may be what Californians see, I will confirm with our consent provider.
