WildFire
I have a HP rx3715. I had just installed a nice looking Today-Plugin for WMP, on the device end an Error message came up saying 'UnregisterClass()'. Anyway, the plugin worked, but I've just done a soft reset, and every time the PDA loads up (half way through bootup process) this error comes up once more, the progress bar completes loading but freezes on completion and doesn't start up! The error box can't be 'Ok'd away. I have to soft reset again, etc. I suppse, I'm looking at a hard reset here..? Does anyone know off hand if iPAQ filestore is lost when a hard reset is performed? :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/270523-pda-problem/ Share on other sites
cvcduty
Once you perform hard reset, all user files are lost. iPaq OS and OEM loaded software reside in ROM so they are safe. When you hard reset, you will take it back to the factory state. WildFire
Yeah :/ I don't suppose anyone knows of any other today plugin for controlling playback? That of WMP is preferable, I'd rather not have another media player installed, unless it's really good :) Thanks Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/270523-pda-problem/#findComment-585281719 Share on other sites

I do have a GB SD card as well, so, a lot of the programs etc. aren't lost.. obviously all the links to Programs folder etc. are though. The programs could all be reinstalled anyway, it's the things like a few pics/savegames that are really annoying. And yep, it just wouldn't boot up (display the today screen) after loading. I've been using it for years with no problems :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/270523-pda-problem/#findComment-585285608 Share on other sites
Alpha2004
why not just load wmp and go to the today screen and control wmp with the dpad? the dpad is specifically built with wmp in mind anyways....up/down controls volume, and I think left/right controls track. I've been using it for years with no problems :) 585285608 I checked out that link, and installed it. When I click it to start Media Player it says it cannot be found. If I start up WMP myself, the buttons appear, but they do nothing. Could this possibly be because I have done the ROM upgrade for WMP10? why not just load wmp and go to the today screen and control wmp with the dpad? the dpad is specifically built with wmp in mind anyways....up/down controls volume, and I think left/right controls track. 585288660 I was going to say that the reason for this would of course be so I could still use the buttons in other applications, but it seems with WMP10, there is no option to keep button assignments when the program is not in focus, so they don't work.
