Which Music Player has the best quality?

creative is the way to go dude! and get a pair of headphones. in-ear varities get uncomfortable after sometime, no matter how good or expensive.

Well i can tell you that if your looking for sound quality you should go for a md player. Mini disk are not carying as much song as an ipod but if your not using the compressed version of attrac on your md ( that is if you record in sp mode ) your going to have a sound really close to your original source. There's a reason why it's used by professional. Compresse at your own risk ^_^

Worst thing about MiniDisc is how annoying it is carrying round the MDs/HiMDs.

Its the reason I switched from my Sony NetMD to an iRiver iHP-140. So damn annoying.

With a HDD player you put your music on, and it stays on all the time... it's just more convenient.

That's only true for the more expensive and non-Japanese crop (Ety, Shure etc.). The Japanese canal-phones (Sharp, Sony, Panasonic) are more comfortable than any kind of headphone. You won't notice that they're even in your ear after you've inserted them.

you al seem to have overlooked the sony HD3, its cheap as chips now cause they brought out a new one that looks like my arse.

i got mine for ?150 in argos, it holds 13,000 songs on 20gb if you use the compressed ATTRAC3 Plus format, which is by no means lossless, but it is damn good.

its about the weight of an ipod mini, smaller than an ipod and its damn nice to use.

it supports WMA, OMG (Attrac), mp3 and WAV.

oh and did i mention it has a 30 hour battery life?

iriver is 90 and ipod is 86 or 89, I believe.

Theres no definate dB ratio for ipod because apple never released it.

The reason seems to be the noise made by the MP3 player, which is said to exceed government regulations. The decision of blocking iPod shipments to the country, however, is just a temporary solution: Apple is already working on "a fix that will keep the device from producing more than the 100 decibelmaximum allowed under French law," as Cnet explained.

    • Most AI-powered mainframe migration vendors expected to fail by 2030, Gartner warns by Paul Hill Credit: Pexels You may have read that many companies still run code written in ancient programming languages like COBOL and pay a handsome sum for those who can maintain that code. Well, it looks like this area of the tech world could be the scene of an AI bubble. It turns out that there are mainframe exit vendors, helping companies move their legacy mainframe systems to modern cloud environments or servers such as Microsoft Azure and AWS, using generative AI tooling. Unfortunately, 75% of these vendors are now expected to pivot or cease operations as market realities take hold by 2030. Alessandro Galimberti from Gartner said: Some of the companies in the mainframe exit market are IBM, 21CS, BMC, Broadcom, Rocket Software, DXC, GTSG, and Kyndryl. The reasons some of these firms are expected to quit the market are a reset of market expectations and a decline in demand for one-size-fits-all migration solutions. The reset in expectations is likely to be driven by cost overruns and threats to business, and the potential occurrence of critical failures within businesses as a result of bad transition implementations. These insights from Gartner are pretty interesting because it’s a specific area of the market where doubt is being cast on generative AI. Many people have cast doubt on whether AI companies will successfully justify the massive amounts spent on GenAI to date, and this data from Gartner suggests the road could be rocky for GenAI.
    • Heaven forbid they lose pennies from their Trillions! Like always, the consumer pays the most. Why is Tim Cooks even talking.....shouldn't he be packing up his office??
    • If you have the budget...! Some solo or indies just want to either learn or start their game and aren't in a capacity to pay salaries or to contractors... Get real.
