Your First Car

Recommended Posts

1989 Ford F-150

Pros:

Two gas tanks

One helluva of an off road truck, Drove it in some swamp land and at some points the water and mud got up to the bottom of the door even with my 4in lift. Never got stuck (Y) I still have it just for playing around with.

It was my first car and was great fun to drive :D

Cons

No AC

Wipers got hit by a tree branch and were never the same :pinch:

No front bumper- Well a modded POS

No tailgate

When I first got it the passenger door worked, but one day the handle got stuck and could not close I had to tie it shut. When I got home I took the whole thing apart and got it to close, but then it got stuck again and I could not get it back open, it ****ed me off so much that I jerked the inside handle and broke it in half.

No inside paneling for driver side door, just the frame ?you don?t want to know w:whistle:tle: Since it was just the frame for the door, the driver side window was being held up by a 2x4 piece and leaked in the rai:p :p

I will take some pictures and stick them up tomorrow

my first car to drive was a 93 dodge shadow, then a 94 dodge shadow both my moms car. funny story with them. on the same day i got a job and me mom got a new car (2000 saturn) since i had to drive to work she gave me her old one, the 93. less then a year later the saturn broke down and we left it at wal-mart to long (like 2 weeks) month later we saw the 94 shadow for sell and get that, since she couln't drive a manual i got it. then 3 months ago i bought me my own car, so now me gots a blue 89 Camaro. its a nice car, the guy i bought it from had put a new engine in it when he got it, had the brakes and all thouse goodies done before he sold it. it came with the stock stereo, but with out back speakers. im gonna be putting a audio system in it soon (might be ordering it next week), i started a thread on it a while back ur welcome to comment on, before i order https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=264568

1992 Chevrolet Cavalier RS

My parents got it used (after being totalled and fixed) and gave it to me when I got my license. Since we got it, it has had numerous new parts put in (probably more than the car was worth) including a new CD player and speakers :D. We sold it a couple of months ago and I'm now looking for a new car. If you know of any, don't post them here, visit my thread at https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=270106.

98 Chevy Malibu

I still have it. It was my dads car and then he gave it to me as a graduation present. His replacement was a 2004 Grand Prix..******. I havent had the best of luck with this car so once I hit 100,000 (if I even get there...) I am going to replace it hopefully with either a Mitsubshi Lancer or Audi A4.

Ha-ha. Good luck with that! My parents have a 1998 Chevy Malibu and it's in the shop nearly every month.

    • I gave up on browser ad-blocking extensions a few years ago, replaced them with Adguard. Not perfect but overhaul is a nice app that does the job on both Windows and Android with the respective versions.

    • "Of course the easiest solution is to switch to uBlock Origin Lite if you want to remain on Chrome, as it is MV3-based, but from our experience, uBO Lite does not seem to be as good as the original non-Lite version" In my experience uBlock Origin Lite does the job for normal everday home users. When they kill that we get to watch Firefox and Brave get a boost in user market share.
    • Block by DNS ad blocker! I dare you! I will even layer unlock Origin, on top of my internal DNS, if I need to and I don’t even block ads today (I really should but this type of behavior makes me angry). I suppose I could also just be lazy, and add the flags myself, back to each release (it wouldn’t be that difficult).
    • Wonder what MPs have ties to these privacy/verification/data harvesting companies that are going to step in this time. Last time under the Tories half the cabinet had fingers in the pies, heck even the PM and his wife at the time was working for silicon valley, probably made a fortune.
