YES I NO - These might appear ugly to some of you - but thats all I can afford.

Please give me some advice

Hey dray_04, As the looks of it http://www.trademe.co.nz/ i'm assuming you live in New Zealand . Nice_Ride I have a friend what wants a Mazda Famila :) .

You know your 6x9 Speakers in my opinion they look at bit dodgey. There're not a really "Good" brand and I think its a cheap import. If i were you i'd probally get some sony ones or something, Panasonic Etc.

By The Way I have some Sony 6x9 my dad got them for me  and I hooked it up to my stereo 1 Year running and its still at ful performance :D.

P.S. I live in New Zealand as well.

GravitationX: You're not helping much.

dray_04: You have two of those 6x9s, right? Considering the size of a Familia, I would suggest running some audio lines to the back of your car and install them behind the back seats.

Yes, you will have to make holes in your car. :p

Thanks alot guys for the feedback - I wasn't expecting any. lol :p

Heck, I didnt even no this section "The Auto Point" existed until now lol.

Blackice - I dont have those 6x9s yet. Im bidding on them, do you recommend them? I only have $200-300 New Zealand dollars for a headunit and some 6x9s.

In terms of speakers (6x9s) How important is the Wattage? I see 230W, 360W etc.

Wattage isn't as important as the maker and model. I'm guessing these two are generic and you won't get much quality out of them.

If you want quality sound, I suggest you do some research and buy namebrand speakers and headunit. From what i've heard, Sony isn't very good. JL audio is good for subs, Alpine or Pioneer is good for headunits. MB Quarts, Infinity for speakers. These will be more expensive, but I think you'll be happier in the long run.

Thanks for the feedback xxkrnxstylezxx. You have actually made me decide on brand rather than cheap "no-name" headunits.

Yeah Iv been told to get a Pioneer or Alpine headunit by 3 other people now. I think ill do some more research.

Can you take a look at these speakers and tell me what you think.

Ill be saving $50 if i get them, but do they look good?

If you're going to run your speakers off an amp, you need higher wattage ratings. If you're going to run them off the headunit, 50W would be fine. Sonys are ... terrible. I've done quite a few sound tests, and while the 6x9s are better than some of their round speakers, they're still worse than any other name brand.

For a headunit, $200 US (for new) is the bare minimum worth spending to make it decent. Alpine, Pioneer, Clarion make the best stuff. Again, I can't say I've ever been impressed by some of the Sonys, and a lot of the cheaper decks will either fall apart or have crappy little buttons.

My 2 cents, unless the stock speakers are terrible, get a headunit first, and see if you aren't impressed by the sound difference.

Go a head unit, and like the guy above me said, get something from alpine or pionerr. I have

DEH-P9600MP, and love it. But anything from pioneer is great. As for speakers get something nice, alpine, mb-quart, infinity.

I have never liked any of sonys car stuff, it seam crappy, and usually breaks easy. I love the rest of sonys products though (TV's)

I hear Repco is a rip-off? I dunno. Maybe.

Ill ask them what they think of those speakers. Thanks Logie

Don't buy anything there, or even listen to their advice, just listen to the systems. I've done it at Tweeter and Best Buy a thousand times.
