Hi guys,

I'm thinking about getting myself some third party ram (1GB possibly) and was wondering if anybody knew how much it would cost (in Aussie dollars) for an authorised personnel to install it, in a Mac Mini? (or in any Apple hardware, eg iBook, pBook, eMac etc).

Otherwise, I might just get 512MB as a BTO option since it's not that much more (1 DIMM), about $100 or so for double the RAM.

Cheers :)

The 512MB option is pretty 'cheap' considering they'll install it (and it's Apple RAM). I think I won't find an answer to my question because "nobody knows" about the Mac Mini and pricing (servicing it, repairs on the Mac Mini etc) because it isn't out yet?

1GB DIMM (with included installation costs) is too pricy, though I'd like to compare it with buying the RAM yourself and having Apple install it for you.

Edit

I'd also like to ask if anybody could tell me what the "accessory kit" includes, when purchasing the Mac Mini. It is directly following Mac OS X. What exactly is the accessory kit?

 What about the people who fear venturing inside their computers

How much is the actual installation cost on top of the AirPort Extreme/Bluetooth Kit?

Bluetooth - $50

Wireless - $79

Both - $129

according to their online store

i would have though they would make both a bit cheaper :\

This is actually true, however it is is very easy to open up your apple min, google around for pictures and instructions, why pay some one to install something as simple. I have seen some of these so called it gurus, how barely have clue about macs in the stores, they have been on a few courses, and I am supposed to trust them with my prized mac, I dont think so. I only go to trusted mac specialists and I have known them over 8 yrs and they have been in the mac world for over 12 years.
