I just reformated and installed xp with sp2

one problem I just noticed is the I can't access diskmgmt.msc

If I select defragmenter from compmgmt.msc the drives are there, but when I select a drive and press analyze nothing happens

when I look at services and select the dependencies tab the dependencies panels are grayed out, and the selecter for the startup type for the RPC service is grayed out

here is a list of running services

C:\WINDOWS\system32>net start

These Windows services are started:

  COM+ Event System

  Cryptographic Services

  DHCP Client

  Event Log

  Fast User Switching Compatibility

  IPSEC Services

  kavsvc

  NVIDIA Display Driver Service

  Plug and Play

  Protected Storage

  Remote Procedure Call (RPC)

  Security Accounts Manager

  Server

  Shell Hardware Detection

  System Event Notification

  Terminal Services

  Themes

  TrueVector Internet Monitor

  Windows Audio

  Windows Management Instrumentatio

  Workstation

The command completed successfully.

how do I restore whatever is wrong?

Thanks

problem solved.

I had disabled the "DCOM Server Process Launcher" service

Don't disable the "DCOM Server Process Launcher" service if you install SP2

I enabled and disabled services untill I figured that out, but if I had just gone to Black Viper I would have seen that

:pinch:
