This is a tug-o-war between pro-choice and morality. I am 20 and have relatively young parents (both 41) so the age gap has always been quite small. My parents remember what it was like to be my age all the way through childhood and adolescence and that helps a lot.

The main problem I see here is that the poor kid isn't going to be guaranteed a mother much beyond its teens. But then again, who is? I could have a kid now, but my hectic lifestyle could dictate my absence before it's even born. Life is all down to chance.

The main reason we are here in this evolutionary 'goo' is to pro-create (replace yourself and your partner) before you die. I say congratulations. It's getting easier and easier to conceive later in life (although us blokes pretty much pop 'til we drop).

It's her decision and maybe her overall life experience will postively dominate her parenting. As long as she does her best with the kid, I'm sure it'll work out fine.

Congratulations to the woman who is older than my grandmother!

If you were raised by your great-great grandparents, you'd have a different opinion. It's not about what is best for the woman; news flash, only bad parents bring children in to the world for their own benefit. A child is an independent life and should only be brought in the this world for it's own benefit. Your argument is like two people in a bad marriage that have a kid to save their marriage!

OMG! I've just had a thought!

The old granny might share the same diaper brand with her kid!

Nope, you got my point wrong. I am saying that If there was something wrong, could be anything. It could have been a godsend to them. People get their signs every day.

To be honest i wouldn't support this, like seriously think about the kid, the mother and father would be that old, and touch wood, they wouldn't stay alive for too long, and lets say they are lucky enough for another 10 yrs, the kid will be 10 yrs old, and if they go, who will look after them? Relatives, but what if they don't have any? then they'll be an orphan, and also it does impact childhood life.

Living in a country where they have an enormous number of orphans (romania), you would think that this woman might have considered adopting maybe 4 or 5 children instead of spending so much money on such a selfish pursuit.

the egg wasn't hers. she doesn't have a partner - so the sperm was donor. the baby was born prematurely - bringing with it many health risks. born without her twin - in which case she may always feel some sort of loss even though she never met her twin.

and by the time she is 20, it's very possible that her only family member, her mother, will have died.

i can't imagine an existance like that.

i'm very fortunate that i still have both my parents, but to have no family in your early 20's is just sad :(

these were selfish actions, by a selfish woman.

everyone keeps saying "she's an intelligent woman - she must have thought it through properly!"

some of the smartest people i've met have very little common sense, and sense of social and moral resposibility.

I agree with you. So many places have orphanages in Romania, years ago (In England) lots of them got adopted, lots of toys and money was sent to help the ones not adopted.

When my two grow up and leave home, we hope to adopt a couple of children from kent that need a family.

Very sad this women spat on her own people.

It is her choice. If she can do it then that's fine with her.

Anyone can do what they want at any age they want. Age does not stop you from doing what you actually can do.

Congrats to her for a new family member. I grief for one of the twins who died during birth.

    • Microsoft admits one of the most crucial Outlook features is currently broken by Sayan Sen Microsoft is making some decent progress when it comes to Windows 11. Recently we have confirmed reports of some rather useful improvements landing in the next version of the OS, 26H2, wherein GPU driver TDR crashes may finally be fixed, plus the company is also allowing users to disable web content on the Search. On the Outlook front though things have not been so rosy. Last month in May we reported several problems affecting basic functionalities on the app. These included a problem where documents would open blank or corrupt themselves. Following that, Quick Steps, a very useful feature, would no longer work correctly, and finally, Microsoft acknowledged a problem wherein images would fail to load up properly inside the email. Microsoft had resolved those bugs later and almost exactly a month after we reported on them, the company has now admitted a new similarly basic issue, this time on Macs. Users recently started noticing that Outlook would no longer display email threads properly as the original message itself was not displayed. An affected user Tsoumpas, C (ngmb) nicely described the problem in a forum post they made on Microsoft's site. They wrote: "Description of the issue: After updating Outlook for Mac [Version 16.110 (26061317)] on 18/6/2026, replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response. Expected behavior: The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings. Actual behavior: The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included." Obviously this must be a highly frustrating for users as noted by several in that thread. The post, at the time of writing, has also been upvoted by more than 40 users indicating that is a fairly widespread bug. Thankfully Microsoft seems to have acknowledged the problem right around that time as it opened a new issue on its official website. In the support article, the company recommends switching to Outlook for Mac from the legacy app, where the problem appears to be happening.
