Exchange 2003 web access help - part 2

Recommended Posts

After all the comments on the last thread regarding the Exchange web access, I have now decided that trying to run the web access on another server is too much work :(

So - a new solution is required :)

At the moment the web acess runs on http://servername/exchange

Is there a way to make this use the https protocol? Hopefully this will make it more secure?

Does anyone know how I would go about this?

Regards

Lee

Just enable SSL in IIS and make sure your router lets the port (443) through. Ensure you have cert services setup and issue a cert to your server :)

Thanks mate - sorry for sounding stupid (as i was not the person who set all this up - we paid someone to come in and do it) but is there a help site for setting these things up ie the cert services, getting a cert and enable ssl etc :) ty

Download the IIS resource kit for windows 2000 Server. Install it on an XP machine and copy the seflssl utility to the 2k3 server. It will do everything automatically. Then you need to go to a Certificate Authority and buy a real cert. The Self one will always promt you for it and it's a pain for the users.

Have fun !!!
