Nice Cars Vol. II

Recommended Posts

I started a thread like this a few months back asking everyone to tell stories about riding, driving in nice/fast cars - and alot of people posted some really cool stories and the thread got alot of attention -

Well I thought I'd restart it since just about 45 minutes ago I was parked next to a Maybach.

Ive never seen one on the road before and frankly never thought I would, but this lady was putting gas in hers , and so I parked at the next pump (I didnt need gas).

All I said was, "I never thought I would get to see a Maybach, your car is beautiful." She replied, "They are out there - Thank You, though"

When I came back out from getting a drink I asked her if it was OK if I looked inside, I told her, I wouldnt touch it." She smiled, "Be my guest.."

The curtains were closed somewhat, but I could see enough... Damn that thing was impressive.

2 hours earlier I was at my parents house, someone in their neighborhood has a Yellow Diablo, and I was pumped about seeing it -- after seeing the Maybach...I didnt care about the Diablo anymore...

Just thought I'd share this with everyone. :)

There are a fair few Bentley Continental GT's around about where I stay these days, so much so that I not hate the car and don't get excited about seeing it. But the first time I saw one, it drove by me in this really light blue color and I chased after it, just to get another glimpse. Wow, that got me excited! :D

But nothing will compare to when I was driving through my local village when out in front of me pulled a DB9 :o

It was so beautiful. A really nice silver colour, huge wheels, and the noise coming from it was amazing. I followed it for a fair while to try and get some pics on my camera phone but none of them turned out :(

This happend last year..

I was walking with my friends down town and then we saw this car. It was a shimmering in silver and ran off. I was like NO WAY, THAT's IMPOSSIBLE. Surely it was true. That shimmering car was an Aston Martin DB7.

I have to say the DB9 is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. There is a Continental GT that parks infront of where i work sometimes, another beautiful car, but i think i'd rather have the DB9.

A few months ago, cruising around back streets of the North End, in Boston. My cousin and I drove behind a 2004 Bentley Continental. It had to be some celebrity. I almost **** myself.

I was infront of a 2003 Lamborghini [something] once.

A Ferrari Maranello was driving through an intersection as I was walking, and it shot flames or sparks out of the muffler. And it sounded like a jet on the ground. Also in the Boston area.

I got more..

I hate the Maybach. I think everybody likes them just because they are expensive and gaudy. It's like making your car seats out of Gucci fabric. It's extremely ugly, but people know you paid a lot for it. I'd take the Diablo over it any day.

Anyway, I'm in Philadelphia and Harrisburg a lot so I see a lot of nice cars in these two cities as well as on the commute between those two places.

the french teacher at my school has a bentley arnage, a range rover on rims, and some $150,000 benz. she drives the bentley and the rover to school. supposedly she used to have a hummer h2 as well, and her husband has a porsche and some other stuff. he's a rich indian dude.

Oh man, you're making me hungry for Italian now...

I was walking towards Boston Common one time when I saw a car that looked like a race car that somehow left the track. It was so low to the ground and I had never seen anything like it. Everyone was staring as it drove by and as it passed me I looked at the license plate: "MCLRNF1" (or something to that effect, I don't remember it exactly but it was a McLaren)

I'm so jealous, I want to see a McLaren F1

This thread pays homage to my statement that there are too many Continental GT's in the world! I forgot to say, I saw a black H2 with giant chrome wheels in Glasgow a month or two ago. This might not mean anything to some American people, but they are not very common on the streets of Scotland :p Apparently it belongs to Peter Lovenkrands, a Danish guy that plays football(soccer) for Rangers (the best team in Glasgow ;) )

Ya know, I cant say if I have a preference. I mean when I say the Maybach, I was shocked - and it was nice - but if I saw an McLarenF1 - hmmmmm?

In may parents neighborhood of maybe 60 homes you see a little of everything:

V12 AMG Benz, Rolls-Royce, Lambos, hell - the kids drive the Hummers - yes its that pathetic

One thing I hate - and this is from personal experience and I cant be persuaded another way -----BMWs

They are the biggest pieces of sh!t on the road, I had one in high school it was junk - my mother had an 850ci - the gear shift came off in her hand !! - I hate them and laugh and people that like them - kinda like Mustang owners - they just dont know any better - except the BMW owners dont live in trailer parks....

Yeah, seeing the McLaren F1 on the road was a life altering experience...haha. If I had one I doubt i'd be driving through the narrow streets of Boston though.

    • Yes, THIS is wordart, not the styling that can now be done. Wordart was all about those curvy words, that you could change the path of, like making words go around a circle. I don't think it can be done now, right?
    • Just saw a news report of a Waymo driving into a flooded road.
    • Password Safe 3.72.0 by Razvan Serea Password Safe is a password database utility. Like many other such products, commercial and otherwise, it stores your passwords in an encrypted file, allowing you to remember only one password (the "safe combination"), instead of all the username/password combinations that you use. Once stored, your user names and passwords are just a few clicks away. Using Password Safe you can organize your passwords using your own customizable references—for example, by user ID, category, web site, or location. You can choose to store all your passwords in a single encrypted master password list (an encrypted password database), or use multiple databases to further organize your passwords (work and home, for example). And with its intuitive interface you will be up and running in minutes. PasswordSafe was originally designed by the renowned security technologist Bruce Schneier and released as a free utility application. Password Safe 3.72.0 changelog: Fixed bugs Improved font scale handling - should resolve font size issues on high resolution displays. GH1749 In the Master Password Setup window, "Show Master Password" is no longer truncated on some displays. GH1092, SF1595 Size and position of main window is now correctly restored on scaled displays. SF1630 Keep password expiry date when both password and password expiry are changed; don't clear a non-recurring expiry when the password's changed. SF1628 Custom values can now be copied to the clipboard in read-only mode via Ctrl-C and right-click->Copy Value. New features GH1196 Dark display mode support: Password Safe now supports the system display mode, as well as setting the mode directly via Manage->Options->Display->Display Mode. This change also updates the general "look & feel" of the app to the current Windows theme. Known limitations: The Date picker and keyboard shortcut controls do not switch to dark theme The Customize Toolbar dialog does not switch to dark theme Custom Field support has been added to the more advanced features: Filters XML and Text import and export Comparison, Sync and Merge databases SF938 Custom field values may now be selected by name and copied via a "Copy Custom Field Value..." submenu in the entry context popup menu. SF936 Notes and Custom fields layout now overlap, selectable by tabs, resulting in a more compact and less cluttered layout. • I've got a SoundBlasterX G6 that I use in my streaming setup. Sounds great to me and I've had zero issues with the ancient software package so far in Win11. That G6 has 7.1, Dolby, fully working SPDIF and since it's a USB device it's outside of my rig so I don't have to worry about EMF distortion. Looks like for now this is a pass for me as I think I have better hardware....
