Router password

this is probably the wrong thread.. but anyway..

a guy i know has a problem, he's got a Netgear router.. he's never accessed it before (192.168.0.1) so he's never changed the password for it.

I know for sure that the user name is "admin" but the password is written inside the manual and he doesn't have the manual, so there is no way for him to get in.

we've tried:

admin

administrator

password

if anyone has this model, can you please post the password from your manual, i'm sure they're the same. I have a different brand, and don't have my manual either.

I don't have the same model (I have a Netgear WBG511), but on mine the default was "admin" for the user and "password" for the password.

P.S. You should probably take out the IP address. There are people that will do bad things with it that might see it.

I think you mean the MR814 v2 -- I do not believe they make a MR8124??

should be default of "password" but says older versions had "1234"

Um -- what exactly are they going to do with a PRIVATE address of 192.168.0.1?? Dude that is the default address for what 1/3 of the home routers on the planet? ;) Or something close to it 192.168.1.1, etc...

I use 192.168.1.1 for my router, and my hosts are .100, .101, .99, I have a printer on .50 and my WAP is .250, some other boxes are .110, .111, .112

What do you think your going to do with them?? ;)

Maybe try to get into some type of firmware recovery to restory to factory default?
