Problems changing internet security zone level

Recommended Posts

For some reason I can't change my Internet Zone Settings from Medium to Low. I get an error message that says: "The recommended security level for this zone is medium. The level that you have chosen is lower than this. Please choose a security level of medium or higher."

When I click ok, it goes back to Medium. I can't change it! Help!

maybe that is built into XP SP2 - why in the world would you want to set it to low?  in any event, just choose custom and set it how you like.

I'm having a problem with Outlook blocking my links in my emails. The answer I have found on the web is that the security level must be set to medium-low to make the links work. So, I just wanted to try it.

1.close the internet options

2.start menu-->run"regedit"

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\3

3.edit the key "MinLevel" at the right,take its value as 10000 (hex)

enjoy!
