..Vector..
Argos - at the cutting edge of technology :/ Nope, doesn't support WMA Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/275057-apple-ipod/#findComment-585341253 Share on other sites
xmr
Well in fact it does sort of support WMA.... in that iTunes will offer to convert WMA's to AAC's for you... so as long as you don't mind the loss in quality you can use WMA's with an iPod. Timmah Veteran Posted January 23, 2005 Veteran Share Posted January 23, 2005 But you have to convert them, which ain't WMA. If you go by that principle any file will work on any DAP - just ain't true. DodgeViper
So why doesn't the Ipod support WMA, is it because of DRM? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/275057-apple-ipod/#findComment-585344364 Share on other sites

cal2002
So why doesn't the Ipod support WMA, is it because of DRM? 585344364[/snapback] It doesn't support it because they only want you to be able to purchase music from them to then put it on the device. iPods sell music from the iTMS, iTMS sells iPods. Giving you a choice is not something Apple wants to do. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/275057-apple-ipod/#findComment-585345034 Share on other sites

Guol
they just want to give Mac users an advantage/ Windows users a disadvantage because thats how business works i guess. though it's damn annoying if all your songs are WMA Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/275057-apple-ipod/#findComment-585381362 Share on other sites
poch
thats why I didn't get an iPod, basically 90% of my songs are WMA files. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/275057-apple-ipod/#findComment-585381616 Share on other sites
IK47
I think that they should support it. It's not like they are loosing anything by supporting it, and they are saving users time by doing so. NetRyder
I think every player should support every major format (MP3, AAC, WMA, OGG, WAV) and should allow you to buy music from any store of your choice. But then we'd be living in a perfect world. :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/275057-apple-ipod/#findComment-585381675 Share on other sites
