I have reached my first milestone (again).

I think I came back to Neowin just in time when I did. So many good things happened after my return. A lot of changes and additions; I've lost track of them all. But all for the better. We're still growing and very active.

I have some people to thank. I don't expect them to find this or read this. But I owe some people some thanks because I am lucky to still be here and they might not be aware of how grateful and appreciative I am. I'm sorry if I forget anyone, there's just too many of you. I'm mentioning anyone I've ever talked to and used to know and had friendships with around here. If I forget you and you want to mentioned, if I know you, let me know and I'll add you if I can think of anything to say.

Yes, I had been a member once before, left, and came back. I was "taken care of" and than reincarnated, resurrected. Some of you remember me. I've been here for a while and lasted a long time. But than I needed a break to work out problems and talk things over with administration. They're really great people. Don't be afraid to confront them with your problems if you need help with anything. Stay on there good side and you'll be fine.

Neobond and Redmak. You two get first thanks, for letting me come back and being on my side and understanding of me. I never expected the two of you to be willing to give me a second chance here. But you both surprised me and forgave me and let me stay here. Thank you.

Toxikk and Sietse. Two people here on the staff that I can consider friends. You guys have kept me going and helped me so much in the past. Don't ever change. I really owe you guys, and would pay you back if I could.

Keldyn. One of the few people I've kept in touch with here and have maintained a friendship with since the beginnings. And helped me get and stay into Fear Factory. You've always been so willing and helpful to me, even when I know I probably don't deserve it. You're a good guy, moderator, and friend. Don't ever change.

bangbang023, Blaise, BOOGSoftball?, Chad, Joel, Radish? and shockz - We've had some differences in the past. But that's all it is, in the past. No hard feelings. I don't hold any grudges. I forgive and forget. We used to be friends and talk a lot in the past. I'm sorry for the mistakes that might?ve been made and any wrongdoings I might've done. I don't know you seven very well, but from the little I do you're all good people.

Chouzan - I think I remember meeting you a long time ago when I had made an old topic asking who else is from Ohio. We're still working on getting to know each other. You seem like a person of many interests and talents and a smart individual with good tastes in games and music and a lot of other stuff.

Chris123NT - Thanks for letting me be a part of your staff back during the old Next Level days, and also for letting me be a member on the short lived O.S. Reports. I enjoyed working for you and it also taught me a lot of what I know now. And thanks again for the few wallpapers you gave me, especially the rare ones.

DedPixel - I finally had a chance to become your friend a while back. You're the guy of many Photoshop talents. You've helped me a lot in the past, taking up a lot of requests of mine. I really appreciate your time and effort and patience. I'm sorry if I was ever annoying with my many requests. We lost touch recently, but I hope you're doing well. I was starting to get to know you, and you seem like a good person and we have some things in common and the same interests. Take care of yourself and good luck with whatever you do in the future.

Double Agent 678 - One of the first people I met and became friends with here. We've lost touch and don't talk as much any more. I hope you're doing well. You're a good person and friend.

Evil Dragon - Just like with StevoFC, you helped me to learn some Photoshop basics back during the old Classix Girls wallpapers days. Thanks for the help in teaching me to learn something new.

FearMeAll - We don't keep in touch any more, and I don't know what happened with you and where you went. But you were also one of the first people I ever met here, also having interests in Dragonball Z. You've made me some good avatars and signatures in the past. You've got some good talents. I hope you're doing well.

freeza - A good friend I met here that has also had an interest in Dragonball Z. From him, I've learned a lot more. You've been a big help to me for so much. Thank you. It is a pleasure working for you.

jagedEdge - I forgot how we met. But you're a good guy and friend, and you know a lot about Macs and computers and hardware. You're a smart guy.

Jennifer - A very cool girl and awesome picture taker! Everyone should know someone like her. Fun to talk to and good sense of humor and personality.

Jstphish - I don't remember how we met. But I am glad that we did. Just like SOOPAH256, you've kept me going in life and for that I am truly grateful and appreciative. Thanks for also being a friend.

MvT Cracker - I might be the first and only person to thank you so far. Some might think you're too active and post too much and don't ever use the edit button. While it might be true, I don't judge people by their faults. No one's perfect and we all make mistakes in life. Yes, even on forums. You've actually helped me a few times in the past and I appreciate that. I for one don't mind the wallpaper spamming, because some of them are very nice. I can't say I care too much for the women ones though because I'm all ready taken, but the nature and other computer ones (MS & OEM for example) are quite nice. Thanks for that registry scanner and reparing program. It's a great system tool.

neotool - A great Winamp skinner. Thanks for the many skins you've made for me. I hope I've been of some help being your tester before public releases.

[NFC]Wave - I think we met a very long time ago back when you had a wallpaper idea similar to "Classix Girls". Your idea was "Longhorn Girls". All though its fate was short lived, we tried keeping it going and it still lives on through me to this day.

nwBen - I remember I met you looking for someone to make me custom boot screens and login screens, and we've been friends ever since. You've been through a lot too and are a good person. Keep up the good work. I've enjoyed working for you.

OldeCrow - I thank you for helping me each and every time I need help modding visual styles and helping me to learn some basic things in StyleBuilder. You're also good at porting WindowBlinds themes for me. Thank you for all the help in the past.

Quick Reply - I remember meeting you a long time ago when Neowin first got this feature, and we'd always joke about you actually being the real thing. We've been friends for a long time. You've also been by my side and helped me to keep on going with life. We haven't been keeping in touch or talking as much as we used to, but you're my friend and I hope you're doing well and wish you the best in life. I had fun working for you.

SOOPAH256 - I remember when we met. Linkin Park's Meteora was the next big thing at the time. You helped me learn a lot more too. You've always been by my side and a great person. Another one of the few I can call a friend.

spiegel - I have known you for a while, but I'm still working on getting to know you. You're a very funny person with a good personality and sense of humor. It was fun being a fellow shirt ninja and participating in our balancing acts.

Spyder - I don't see you around these parts as much any more. But I remember I think we used to talk a lot back in the good old days. I have to thank you anyway just for simply being a fellow Transformers fan. I also want to thank you for all the help over at your Apocalyptic Dreams forum. You've always been a good guy in my book. I hope to continue seeing you around Neowin in the future.

StevoFC - We met back during the old "Classix Girls" days, and been friends ever since. You've helped me with a lot. Thank you for everything you've done. You've been through a lot and you're doing well. You're a great person and a good friend. Keep up the good work.

wstaylor - When you first came here, you got things going again for the customization and icons and wallpapers sections. You're a good themer. I was glad to have helped you with your wallpaper collection. Good luck in your constantly growing and continuing searches.

EnIgMa-PenGuIn & Homer? - I am still working on getting to know you two, but you've always been my friends. We seem to misunderstand each other a lot, but we're all good people. I hope I've done some good work for you both helping you out with everything I've invested my time and effort into. You guys are a few of the only friends I have left. You both really mean a lot to me. Sometimes you're the only ones I ever talk to any more. Even if I don't always say it or show it, I am really glad we've been friends and I appreciate all the help you've given me in the past. I would return the favors if I could. Don't ever change and good luck in life and whatever the future may hold for you both.

AgEnTsMiTh - Here you go. You can have a mention anyway even though I don't really know you or talk to you. Cheers dude. The Matrix trilogy was one of my favorite series of movies, so you can have a spot up here.

I think this is everyone I know and remember throughout my entire membership(s) span here over the years. Anyone else, I'm still working on getting to know and be friends with.

I also want to thank the rest of the staff and members for all they do here in keeping this community what it is. We've all been though so much here and have had our ups and downs and good times and bad times. But we always seem to pull though and keep on going and being strong. It's going to take a lot to keep a place like us down for good.

I hope we'll be around for as long as possible and have many more good things to come for us!

:)r /> :)

    • I will keep my current devices for several years... no planning in upgrading until these devices stop working. Too pricey.
    • Apple raises MacBook and iPad prices as memory costs surge by Karthik Mudaliar Apple has raised the U.S. prices of several MacBook and iPad models, including the MacBook Neo, which it launched for $599 less than four months ago. The company’s cheapest laptop now starts at $699, while some MacBook Pro configurations have increased by $300. The changes affect the MacBook Neo, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iPad Air, and iPad Pro. Apple has not changed the hardware or storage included with these models, so customers are simply paying more for the same configurations. Here is how the new US pricing compares with the previous starting prices: Product Previous price New price Increase MacBook Neo $599 $699 $100 13-inch MacBook Air, 512GB $1,099 $1,299 $200 14-inch MacBook Pro, 1TB $1,699 $1,999 $300 16-inch MacBook Pro $2,699 $2,999 $300 11-inch iPad Air, 128GB $599 $749 $150 13-inch iPad Air, 128GB $799 $949 $150 11-inch iPad Pro, 256GB $999 $1,199 $200 13-inch iPad Pro, 256GB $1,299 $1,499 $200 The updated prices are already appearing on Apple’s U.S. online store. The MacBook Neo increase will probably attract the most attention. Apple introduced the laptop in March for $599, pitching it as a more affordable Mac for students and buyers considering Windows laptops or Chromebooks. It uses an A18 Pro processor and originally undercut Dell’s new $699 XPS 13 by $100. Following the increase, the two laptops now have the same starting price. The M5 MacBook Air has also lost the price Apple promoted when it launched in March. The 13-inch model arrived with 512GB of storage for $1,099, while Apple’s store now lists the MacBook Air range as starting at $1,299. The 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M5 chip and 1TB of storage has gone from $1,699 to $1,999. Apple has made similar changes to its iPads. The recently released M4 iPad Air, which launched at the same $599 starting price as its predecessor, now starts at $749 for the 11-inch version. The 13-inch version has risen from $799 to $949. The iPad Pro increases are larger in dollar terms. Apple’s 11-inch M5 iPad Pro now starts at $1,199, up from $999, while the 13-inch version has moved from $1,299 to $1,499. Both base models still include 256GB of storage. Apple blamed the increases on the rapidly rising cost of DRAM and NAND flash, which provide system memory and device storage. The company told Reuters that it had tried to shield customers from the increases but could no longer absorb them. “We have never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly,” Apple said. Tim Cook had already warned that price increases were coming. Cook said Apple’s existing component inventory had softened the immediate impact, but that higher memory costs would increasingly affect the company after the June quarter. Much of the pressure comes from the construction of AI data centers. Memory manufacturers are directing more production toward high-margin server products, leaving PC, tablet, and smartphone makers competing for the remaining supply. Apple has not said whether the new prices are temporary or whether further increases are planned. For now, the changes show that even Apple’s purchasing power has not been enough to keep the AI-driven memory shortage away from consumer devices.
    • Ventoy 1.1.16 is out.
    • This is a none story - these low volume Chinese models will always get new experimental features first because Apple and Samsung can't produce them in huge volume to meet demand.
    • Nvidia GeForce NOW gains support for Dark Scrolls, Empulse, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The final update of June for Nvidia's cloud gaming service GeForce NOW is now available, and it is touting support for six more games. The company is also drawing subscriber attention towards the summer sales kicking off across stores, so they can stock up on more cloud-supported titles. Of course, the Steam Summer Sale is the biggest promotion, which is kicking off later today. "Supported Steam games can be streamed across devices with GeForce NOW, making it easy to buy a game once, keep progress synced and pick up where the gameplay left off on PCs, Macs, handheld devices, phones, TVs and more," says the company. "In other words, the Steam Summer Sale brings the deals; GeForce NOW adds the flexibility." Don't forget that the GeForce NOW summer sale is still active as well. This limited-time offer drops the 12-month Performance membership from $99.99 to $64.99, saving members $35. At the same time, the 12-month Ultimate membership is currently going for $129.99, dropping the price by $70 from the original $199.99. Here are the games joining GeForce NOW's supported list this week: Dark Scrolls (New release on Steam, available June 22) SAND: Raiders of Sophie (New release on Steam, available June 22) Deer & Boy (New release on Steam, available June 23) EMPULSE (New release on Steam, available June 24) The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (Steam) FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves (Steam) With the June expansions coming to an end, Nvidia should be announcing its July GeForce NOW plans next week. Keep in mind that, unlike subscription services like Game Pass or EA Play, a copy of a game must be owned by the GeForce NOW member (or at least have a license via PC Game Pass) to start playing via Nvidia's cloud servers. There is also a limit to how many hours subscribers can use the service per month.
