Canada not so safe?

Canadian privacy law forbids MPAA/RIAA to get any information about you.  So if they do decided to sue you, all the evidence they have against you becomes garbage due to them violating privacy laws.

are you sure of that? this is very interesting!! so ISPs in canada, dont have the right to give any informations to MPAA/RIAA organisations!

someone can tell me how ISPs can find the filename we sharing?

isp log on the p2p network, find the user ip address and request his share list?

Kad network?

yeah that come with newer version of eMule.. this is a "de-centralized" (typing error).. server to find files

i heard it is very hard to find the source because it use many relay

http://www.infoanarchy.org/wiki/wiki.pl?Kademlia

(i dont want to talk about piracy files but about anonymous sharing)

why take without giving back? those are the kind of people that make file-sharing weak. my music uploads are somewhere 1-2 gigs every couple days and i do it without fear. first for the reason that i don't share billboard or pop music that the riaa is even looking for. thats my way of fighting back against the riaa, i don't download or buy any music by any band supported by them. the other reason why is because my isp telus just doesn't give a crap. my town has no caps on download/uploading, and there hasnt been any since dsl was put in 4 years ago.

Telus will forward on warning letters... but if you don't comply, they're not gonna cut off your service, they just wait until they are ordered by a court to disclose your information (which is never in Canada at the moment).

    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
    • What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
    • Outlook classic is inherently better than new outlook, for a number of reasons. That said, if the only reason people need office is to read email, they should just use thunderbird.
