Dell P1130 21" CRT Monitor

Recommended Posts

This is my first review. I don?t know much about monitors but do I need to know much? The answer is no. I don?t need to know anything all I need to know is that it looks clear and that its big.

The monitor has a shipping weight of 70lbs, most of it packing material. However I cannot show the packing material because it would not fit in my car. The monitor is a ?off lease monitor that I picked up for around $260cnd, not bad for a 21? flat screen CRT. The screen is very pleasing to the eye, no dead pixels and no scratches. But I bet your wondering why did he buy used and why didn?t he buy LCD. Well A) I can?t afford an LCD monitor being 14 years of age, and B) I liked the look of this monitor, it dwarfs my 17? CRT?

The monitor is very pleasing to the eye while watching DVD?s. It may seem odd at first sitting to close to a monitor while watching a DVD. But it really isn?t that hard to see anything.

Yes the monitor may go back 19.8? but that?s just about an inch more then my old 17? monitor. So it really doesn?t take up to much desk space.

The coolest feature of the CRT is it has dual display inputs for two computers. Its kind of like on onboard KVM but with out the K and the M. To switch back and forth between the two inputs you just have to push a button located next to the power button.

There are two little lines that go across the screen, but apparently this isn?t a defect but it isn?t noticeable until you try to look for them. How ever with the rest of the monitors how can two barley noticeable lines ruin the over all rating of the monitor? It doesn?t. This monitor had met my needs and it will do so until it dies on me at which point I will buy another one. I give it 10/10. No I?m not being to nice with the rating out of ten, it is the biggest monitor that I have had and it is also the best monitor that I have ever had. Do I recommend this monitor? Yes I wouldn?t buy something I wouldn?t recommend to one of my friends or family.

My college had some of those in 19". The two lines are typical of all trinitron tube monitors. I personally can't stand them. :)

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal. I remember when I got my 21" Viewsonic for 200 US shipped. I'm starting to lean towards LCD if I can ever justify the cost. :)

I've got almost the same one, mine is biege. I got it off lease for $95.00 and it still had 15 months on the warranty, also got two 20", one almost new when a customer bought two LCD's from work and said what will you give for my crts. I told him used about $50.00 apiece and he said ok. I almost fell out but paid him real quick before he changed his mind. Made my daughter and wife real happy as they had 17s.

I bought one of the P1130 beauties but the HP Silver version :D for ?65:rofl::

I'm VERY happy with it.

It was used for about a year and has been in storage ever since in anti-static wrap. Its immaculate with no scratches anywhere.

Manufacture date is Feb 2003 so its still under HP's 3 year warranty:laugh::

I hate to bring something back from the grave, but...

I may be able to pick up one of these tonight for dirt cheap. It's more screen space then my 17" LCD provides and a lot cheaper then upgrading to a larger LCD.

Can't stand such takes as Spotify's: "Spotify's CEO recently pushed back against listeners who call AI music "slop," urging people to stop using the term and instead embrace the creative potential of AI music."

    • Microsoft Teams gets smarter at spotting sneaky meeting bots by Usama Jawad Microsoft Teams is set to receive a couple of new features soon, including a dedicated Recap app and a rather controversial location tracking functionality. The Redmond tech giant has also explained how it has made online communication and collaboration a lot more performant this year. Now, the company has detailed more secure bot admission mechanisms, as first reported by us in March 2026, and now available in Teams. As the use of AI has expanded across enterprise environments, Microsoft has begun allowing users to integrate bots into their meetings for various tasks, such as note-taking. While this has a tangible productivity benefit for users, Microsoft has highlighted how misconfiguration has allowed bots to join meetings that they shouldn't. This has created security and privacy risks, which Microsoft is now combating using a new Teams admin policy that allows organizers to control how external bots access meetings. Admins can leverage a policy called Manage external bots and their access to meetings. The default configuration is "When detected, require approval before joining", which places detected bots in a lobby before they are explicitly admitted into the meeting. The other option disables the experience. Microsoft has also requested admins to only allow organizers and co-organizers to manage access to a meeting, so that other people don't randomly allow bots into meetings. Teams will now be able to leverage infrastructure signals to intelligently detect and distinguish between bots and humans. Microsoft will soon also trial a registration experience for independent software vendors (ISVs) to build a system that registers a bot with Microsoft, so it is marked as a "known" bot. Teams will also categorize bots as trusted and suspected threats so that organizers can quickly identify which bots they want to allow into a meeting. Additional safeguards to block accidental admission of a bot into a meeting include: No one-click Admit option for identified bots Confirmation prompts when admitting participants that include bots Warnings when organizers choose Admit all, and bots are included Microsoft has begun rolling out this experience, and it will be retiring the current CAPTCHA verification implementation. In the future, the company plans to roll out new capabilities like allow-lists, organization-wide policies, admin reports, audit logs, and more granular controls.
    • With the current hardware prices Microsoft should lift the restriction. Then if you have the correct TPM then allow you to use X feature, if you don't have the correct TPM then don't but still actually let you run windows. 11. With a disclaimer during install that X features would be unavailable.
