not having watched the game (i live in the UK and its on at a silly time).....im curious about a fact i came upon..apparently nearly 80% of viewers only watch the superbowl for the commercials......does that sound right to you guys??

I saw a note about this on the news last night. I think they said it was more like 35%. Still way rediculous!

I usually get up and go do whatever I need to do when the commercials come on. Most of them are to the point of being abolutely ignorant anymore. That Mustang one was totally pointless Couldn't help but see that one as many times as it was on.

Also, wonder how much McCartney made for doing 3 measley tunes?

Yeah, football can be really boring to watch.

I liked the Ameriquest commericals - the ones where they were like 'Do not judge too quickly' - The store one (where the guy says 'You are getting robbed' to the person he is talking to on the cell phone and the store clerk thinks he is getting robbed and gives the guy a beatdown). Then there is the one where the guy is making dinner, and the cat knocks over the saucepan and he picks the cat up just as his wife (or girlfriend) walks in. The scene is really funny because she walks in and sees the guy holding the cat up, a knife in his hand, and sauce all over the floor (looks like blood).

Good stuff.

Other than that, nothing too spectacular in my opinion.

IMO, the whole superbowl experience seemed to be below par this year. the pre-game hype was non-existent. the commercials overall were dull and boring, peppered by just a few good ones. the half-time show was the slowest i've seen in years. granted it was the cleanest but they could have done something else to really liven the show.

overall it was a rather bland experience. i really expected a bit more.

I agree with you 100%. I think they just wanted to be safe in all aspects because of last years interesting halftime show experience.... :shifty:

I like the Cadillac one, but that's because I like Cadillac's new line of cars.

The GoDaddy.com commercial was interesting, making fun of the Ethics Board hearing and all that.

I hope they fired whoever thought it would be interesting, funny, unique, or in any way good, to have Gladys Knight playing rugby. It was seriously one of the most idiotic commercials I've ever seen.

There was also that one commercial with random people on the street doin some hot ass dancing, but I was never able to figure out what it was a commercial for. I just knew there was some vicious CGI pop n lock goin down.

    • Media Player Classic - Home Cinema 2.7.2 by Razvan Serea Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (MPC-HC) is a free and open-source video and audio player for Windows. MPC-HC is based on the original Guliverkli project (which is no longer maintained) and contains many additional features and bug fixes. As the continuation of the original Media Player Classic, MPC-HC isn’t flashy but it works with nearly any media format. MPC-HC uses DXVA technology to pass decoding operations to your modern video card, enhancing your viewing experience. And MPC-HC supports both physical and software DVDs with menus, chapter navigation, and subtitles. Overview of features A lot of people seem to be unaware of some of the awesome features that have been added to MPC-HC in the past years. Here is a list of useful options and features that everyone should know about: Dark interface Menu > View > Dark Theme When using dark theme it is also possible to change the height of the seekbar and size of the toolbar buttons. Options > Advanced Video preview on the seekbar Options > Tweaks > Show preview on seek bar Adjust playback speed Menu > Play > Playback rate The buttons in the player that control playback rate take a 2x step by default. This can be customized to smaller values (like 10%): Options > Playback > Speed step Adjusting playback speed works best with the internal audio renderer. This also has automatic pitch correction. Options > Playback > Output > Audio Renderer MPC-HC can remember playback position, so you can resume from that point later Options > Player > History You can quickly seek through a video with Ctrl + Mouse Scrollwheel. You can jump to next/previous file in a folder by pressing PageUp/PageDown. You can perform automatic actions at end of file. For example to go to next file or close player. Options > Playback > After Playback (permanent setting) Menu > Play > After Playback (for current file only) A-B repeat - You can loop a segment of a video. Press [ and ] to set start and stop markers. You can rotate/flip/mirror/stretch/zoom the video Menu > View > Pan&Scan This is also easily done with hotkeys (see below). There are lots of keyboard hotkeys and mouse actions to control the player. They can be customized as well. Options > Player > Keys Tip: there is a search box above the table. You can stream videos directly from Youtube and many other video websites You can stream videos directly from Youtube and many other video websites Put yt-dlp.exe or youtube-dl.exe in the MPC-HC installation folder. Then you can open website URLs in the player: Menu > File > Open File/URL You can even download those videos: Menu > File > Save a copy Tip: to be able to download in best quality with yt-dlp/youtube-dl, it is recommended to also put ffmpeg.exe in the MPC-HC folder. Several YDL configuration options are found here: Options > Advanced This includes an option to specify the location of the .exe in case you don't want to put it in MPC-HC folder. Play HDR video This requires using madVR or MPC Video Renderer. After installation these renderers can be selected here: Options > Playback > Output Ability to search for and download subtitles, either automatically or manually (press D): Options > Subtitles > Misc Besides all these (new) features, there have also been many bugfixes and internal improvements in the player in the past years that give better performance and stability. It also has updated internal codecs. Support was added for CUE sheets, WebVTT subtitles, etc. Media Player Classic - Home Cinema 2.7.2 changelog: Updated LAV Filters to version 0.81-23-g6fadb Updated MPC Video Renderer to version 0.10.2.2540 Updated MediaInfo DLL to version 26.05 Updated MPC Audio Renderer Several crash fixes, bug fixes and small improvements. • No problems here using the new Outlook. In our company we started to default installing to users on new computers or when we're reimaging. But, if the user needs/ask for the classic one, we install it. Low reject rate at this point.
    • Yeah it's my only home/business computer. The Surface Pen magnetic Storage is on the left side, but it doesn't charge the Pen. I do the charging once every 6+ months by interchanging between 2 rechargeable AAAA batteries and charging the other via a USB A battery charger.
