mayamaniac
I got a computer at work and home, both with broadband. I would like to synchronize the data for a specified folder so that both folders are updated either automatically or at specified time. What methods are available to do this in WinXP? I know some FTP client/server combination can do this, but wondering if there are other alternatives. John Veteran Posted February 8, 2005 Veteran Share Posted February 8, 2005 Windows includes a feature called Offline Files, which should do just what you're asking. Just to warn you, Fast User Switching must be disabled first. mayamaniac
I read a thread on Offline files also, but seems it doesn't work too well. Just looking for other alternatives, possibly better. MazX_Napalm
Robocopy (free from MS) would be a good one. Lots of switches and options. cdcase
xxcopy works good, depending on what you need it for. I use it to update my backup drives on both my main and backup computers. I remember a couple of years ago I used the "My Briefcase" which was pretty good too... however, I haven't used it in XP... :s Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/282621-synchronizing-data-between-two-computers/#findComment-585448083 Share on other sites
