I got the idea from VirtualPlastic.net and combined it with CLSID Folders.

The zip file includes 4 CLSID Folders; My Computer, Control Panel, All Programs & Start Menu.

Copy these folders to any location you want and create a new Toolbar (right click on the Taskbar, select Toolbars -> New Toolbar...).

Point the new Toolbar to one of the CLSID Folders and drag the Toolbar to the Systray or another Toolbar as far as you can, it will leave you with only the double arrow.

The result is a Toolbar with expanding menus that's taking up nearly no space.

[edit]

When you see the CLSID Extensions (Post #8), hide your protected system files (Folder Options -> View Tab -> Check "Hide protected operating system files") or import NeverShowExt.reg & restart Explorer or your Computer.

The reg file only hides the extensions from the folders in this zip file, not from all files. :)

You're welkome! :)

Nice work Herby!!

But isnt that just the same as dragging a folder or shortcut on to your taskbar??

No, it is'nt the same, they have just a space as name (ALT + 0160) + it's impossible to drag "All Programs" to your Taskbar. :p

When you see the CLSID Extensions, hide your protected system files (Folder Options -> View Tab -> Check "Hide protected operating system files") or import NeverShowExt.reg & restart Explorer or your Computer and they are gone.

I've updated the first post & zip file with the reg file + info and added the Start Menu folder. :)

Not sure if this would go here, but I am currently on a quest to get rid of desktop icons. So i unlocked my taskbar and dragged your toolbar onto my desktop.(I have it diplaying desktop icons) It currently looks extrememly ugly and was wondering if there was a way to use alpha transparency to make it transparent. All i want is to be able to have a non ugly non ubtrusive icon or arrow on my deskotp, and when i click on it all my icons appear. It would be awseome if somebody could help me out here. Maybe post a program that i am reffering to, or just tell me how to do it.

If anybody would like me to post a pic, I will.

In this thread I explained how to create a textless folder (you can give it any icon you want).

Try it first and if you have questions you can always PM me.
