Hi ravix7,

For me I love the look of IE7, but the functionality of Opera.

If they changed the look of Opera then I might use it but until

then I am happy with mine looking like IE7.

But each to their own and i can appreciate anyone else

who chooses to make their opera as they wish.

cheers

How did you get the progress bar to be permanently on?

hit shift + f12, go toolbars, set progress bar to display at the bottom. Then click a link and hit sift+f12 while the progress bar is vissible at the bottom. Then drag and drop each item to the status bar (the bar below it). When you have all items on the status bar, you should hvae 2 progress bars so just turn off the original one.

looks pretty nice

Hi PureBY,

Thanks for your comment....... :D.

For me I love the look of IE 7 but the functionality of Opera 9.

The original design of the skin was done by inzavi who called it likeIE.

When I downloaded the skin I realised even though a nice looking

skin it really looked nothing like Windows Internet Explorer 7.

So I set about to change it to make it look identical to IE 7 for

my own benefit ...so I do not claim to have made this skin

but have modified it a lot to suit my style.

As for getting the Tabs below the address bar you need to drag

all the buttons and address bar and search box also to the Main bar.

Then rearrange them as suits you and then turn off the address bar.

I also added custom toolbar items and restyled the panels to resemble IE 7.

If you want the skin and toolbar.ini to go with it i can email it to you.

Here is how it looks at the moment.

I like mine all customized, I have my menus in the bottom to block popups, with my identify, in the left I have my plug-ins so some pages can be disabled fast enough, then there are my cookies for those sites that like to track :)

  • 3 weeks later...

Alright, here's the steps for getting my setup:

1) Get the skin here. Open the .7z file, and copy the .zip to your skins folder.

2) OPTIONAL: open the skin.ini file in the skin .zip, and add these lines if you want longer tabs:

[Options]
Pagebar max button width	= 225
Pagebar min button width	= 225

3) Grab my toolbar setup below. See the attachment. Note that I took away the RSS icon that stood beside the print toolbar, only because it did virtually nothing.

4) Apply the skin.

5) Hide your menu bar. If you cannot do this, go into Preferences, the Advanced tab, and the Shortcuts category. Edit your current keyboard setup. Select the 'Application' tree, and click New. On the left side, type in: "Platform Windows, F11 alt" and on the right side: "Enable menu bar | Disable menu bar" (in both cases, type without quotes). Click OK, and OK again. Now you can use ALT+F11 to hide/enable the menu bar.

6) If you want to make this setup a bit more like IE, you can go ahead and change the title of Opera to "Windows Internet Explorer" and use the IE7 icon. To do that:

- Exit Opera, and go into your profile folder. Open up opera6.ini

- under [user Prefs] stick in these lines:

Title=Windows Internet Explorer
Application icon=<<PATH TO ICON>>\ie7.ico

- Grab the IE7 icon file below, and place it anywhere (preferably your profile folder). Just change <<PATH TO ICON>> to the name of its folder.

Now you can optionally change the O icon on your quicklaunch/desktop/Start Menu to the E just to fool almost anyone using your computer.

(side note: I was inspired to take on this layout after seeing this.)

Thanks man, it's so great  . Very thanks

How to remove site name at Panel bar:

Seems like mine is the most boring.

I don't really use tabs in Opera, I use the mouse gesture,

Jump from one window to the next

Hold right mouse button and roll wheel

Opera Mouse Gestures:

Can't wait until Opera 9 Final comes out. :D :)

    • Windows Server gets DNS over HTTPS (DoH) support by Usama Jawad For the past few months, Microsoft has been previewing DNS over HTTPS (DoH) for Windows DNS Server, touting it as a foundational upgrade for zero-trust enterprise networks. It essentially introduces encrypted, authenticated DNS for the networks rather than transmitting DNS traffic in clear. Now, the company has introduced the general availability (GA) of this feature. The GA of DoH encourages organizations to deploy the solution in production environments without implementing a new client-to-resolver architecture. DoH helps improve the overall security of the network and reduces the risk of spoofing due to its zero-trust design. This is a significant change because pretty much every interaction with the network requires interfacing with DNS. DoH offers several advantages over standard DNS traffic, such as encryption using HTTPS, preventing unauthorized inspection, man-in-the-middle attacks, and traffic analysis. Since it leverages TLS certificates so that clients can verify the identity of the DNS server, it prevents spoofing through this authentication mechanism. Additionally, it's built on the DoH standard defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), which means that it should work with modern RFC 8484-compliant clients. Finally, it integrates into the existing network architecture seamlessly and can even run in parallel with standard DNS, so that customers can migrate to the new technology at their own pace. Microsoft says that in the past few months of preview, DoH has become more stable, and customers can confidently deploy it in production environments with proper guidance. Microsoft has emphasized that migrating to DoH is necessary for organizations that are moving toward zero-trust DNS solutions. Windows clients already support DoH, but the latest availability on Windows Server provides encrypted DNS to all endpoints. The company has also mentioned that "while this release focuses on encrypting client-to-resolver communication, support for encrypted communication between Windows DNS Server and upstream DNS resolvers is planned for a future update." You can follow Microsoft's guidance to deploy DoH here, but keep in mind that you need a Windows Server 2025 installation with the latest Patch Tuesday updates installed.
    • Lol I had one of these turn faulty in Jan, guess it wasn't just bad luck lol
    • I'm team Rossmann all the way. I have the exact same NVME, altough not in an array like him.
    • It had gone weeks ago. Although thinking about it I'm on the beta.
    • They thought value of their goods would forever only drop like it used to and didn't account for sudden increase in price because of all the Ai hype. Tough luck Samsung, don't try to weasel this one out. Also American customer protection laws are a**. In Europe, you need to be compensated for a functioning product of same or better characteristics (not same price point as when it was originally bought!) if it can't be repaired and when you receive a replacement product your warranty starts from scratch because you received a different item than you previously had and old warranty thus cannot apply to it anymore. If your actual item was successfully repaired, warranty gets extended for the period the item was in service. If item is repaired to a significant extent, warranty also starts over from scratch because major part of it was replaced. Americans need to fight to get this kind of consumer protections because they are constantly getting screwed over.
