3DS Max 5.1 Tutorials

Anyone know of any 3DS Max 5.1/6 sites that have tutorials on making chesspieces, more specifically the queen? There is no tutorial for that piece included in 3DS Max.

All chess pieces will be pretty much the same to model, so follow this tutorial.

Another method would be to lathe a spline. This would probably give you better control over the shape.

You may be required to edit the model on a vertex level to produce the detail around the top of the queen.

To create this detail I suggest that you extrude and bevel the faces then apply a meshsmooth.

I am a beginner with 3DS Max, I know of the Lathe command and thats what I have been using. I need a detailed tutorial on modelling the queen chess piece.

there wouldnt be much to it.... you could always draw one and scan it in to use as a template... or just start w/ the 2D line tools and make the basic 1/2 shape and then click lathe... just try it out if you cant find a tutorial

I am desperate here, I really am struggling with this. All I need is a tutorial that explains in detail what is to be done. Please.
