Hi XPero,

Very good job!

I've asked this in topic about version 2.5, but still...

Is it possible , when you release version 3, to make alternative release also? I mean - without installer. Just ZIP file or something like. I've remember first versions of XPize have this like installations. This because i've already installed Windows and not wanted to reinstall it from sleestreaming CD, and I don't like that installer creates record in add/remove programs. I prefere just overwrite patched files and backup original ones.

thanks beforehand

Yes, I've answered that question already. The XPize 3.0 will have an option to patch a i386 directory, so you will have the XPize 3.0 "classic pack" for slipstreaming.

EDIT: Sorry, I misunderstood you. Well, that option you say can be done by making the classic pack first with the installer i386 patching option, then making a script to overwrite your current files with it. I'm not going to do that, but someone did it for 2.5, so maybe he can do it for 3.0 as well.

I can't wait for this, Will I have to uninstall the last version before installing it - or can it install over the top just fine.

Whats Changed by the way? And how long do you believe I will be waiting before this comes out?

I'm loving this, I use it with FOOOD's iCANDY Icons and Windows looks like how it should have been...

I've installed the Beta on top of 2.5 and everything worked perfectly

There is no changelog. In a general view I can say: more and more icons XPized, Royale orientation, AVIs redesigned, a XPized WinRAR interface Have a look, a Royale logon, plus more.

If everything goes well, we will have 3.0 out next week.

Thanks all for comments

I'm the one creating the installer. I am curious as to why it bothers you that the installer creates an entry in Add/Remove Programs? It's uninstallable, so it would make sense for it to create an entry there. Do you look at Add/Remove Programs so much that it really bothers you? You can remove the backup and uninstaller. After installing XPize, run the uninstaller and only check to remove the Uninstaller. This will remove all of the registry entries the installer made, the uninstaller, the backup files, the updater, and the start menu and add/remove program entries.

To just make a zip file with the files in it would be stupid. For one, they would only work for one specific file version, whereas the installer works for ALL file versions. Not only that, but there are about 100 system files included. And I don't know whether you realize this, but you can't just cut and paste system files. You either have to use Replacer, or manually replace them in Recovery Console, or by renaming and then replacing. Plus then you'd have to manually backup 100 system files. That's a huge pain in the butt and I have no idea why anyone in their right mind would want to do that. The installer takes care of all of that for you.

Ok guys, the XPize site and forums are up :D . They aren't completely finished.

Check it out--->http://xpize.v3.net

Enjoy, XPero

Well yes and no. This is an installer. The installer patch the file resources so it would work with any version of windows like xp home, xp pro, media center, 2003, etc... In XPize 2.5 there was a silent (/S) switch witch I would asume the same for XPize 3 but I'm not sure. So you can have XPize install during the install I think. Don't hold me to this though
