We're arranging a few events as part of RAG for my uni (Raise And Give, basically we do pub crawls and collect money for 5 uni charities from drunk students).

There's gonna be a sponsored run around the city's common and also someone is going to fill a bath tub with beans and sit it to raise money.

I remember in the first year one guy had his head shaved for it too. It's normally a good laugh and you get people doing some stupid things to raise money. All for good causes (Y)

Basically it's some stupid day with media coverage where people act like fools for the sake of charity and just another way to force people to give to charity.

There are too many of these charity events now.

You're right, we have a lot of poverty already in the U.K (yes I know some of the money raised from this event goes to help a London child and other children related charities) I just get sick of seeing poor African countries receiving aid and the leaders driving around in Roll's Royce's and having many Palaces and Villa's around the World.

Maybe Messers Blair and Bush should think about dealing with these leaders before blowing the balls out of Iraq.

Lack of natural resources to pay back the debt owed for "bringing freedom to their oppressed nations" would probably halt the invasions.

Yep, Black Gold, Texas T, or whatever it's slang is for OIL.

I just hope Bush don't invade Scotland for North Sea Oil and Gas !

The solution is not wiping out debt, deposing corrupt leaders or anything of the sort. The solution is based around the variable exchange rate scheme, whereby poorer countries are at the wrong end of the sliding scale.

Without this being resolved, all the money in the world won't help, because the situation will recurr within a nuber of years, guaranteed!

omg

how heartless can you be

ideas like this are always good  especially if it is giving to charity!!!

i no it can be annoying sometimes but it is giving to charity  that isn't a nice thing to say

o and it isn't stupid    it is cool

I don't mean to be a heartless scrooge as I'm not. I'm happy to give to charity and I do give to charity, I just don't want to be forced to give to charity through the media etc. It's only my opinion but this TV charity business was alright in the 80s and 90s but now I find it plain boring.

And a leesmithg said, we have problems in the UK, there's mass poverty here. I believe we should be helping our own country as well as Africa etc. Anyway, we've all just donated a hell of a lot of money to the tsunami, now it's red nose day, it's one charity event after another.

    • That's not clickbait. Clickbait is headlines like, "You'll never guess what this person looks like now" for example. For goodness sake, take a look around the internet if you think this is clickbait. How do sites survive if people don't click through to articles? How many people in all honesty would have clicked this if it had your suggested headline? You and those upvoting your post won't be happy until the web is a couple of hundred websites all behind a paywall.

    • Or use Epic games and get full games for free. lol Steam and their demos. Thankfully there’s competition
    • Maybe I missed it, but does this say anywhere that the game save bug has been squashed? I haven't encountered it myself, but it would be nice to know I'm good to go. Anyway, amazingly well done game. Mostly more of the same. ...but when the same is best in class with improved graphics and features, then a win.
    • Well when your game flops, you should expect this. If I do bad at work, I would expect a layoff. Less than 1600 people played it on steam. https://steamdb.info/app/1934570/charts/
