Hello Guys...

i just bought a new MP3 player and was wondering if any of you guys have ever heard of it or had any experience with it

Player Home page

and

Player Info Page

I've always liked the iPod from Apple but could never convince myself to pay that premium price for it. So when i saw this on sale this morning at CompUSA i ran out and grabbed it

CompUSA special this week

I plan on it. but the manual says i should let the battery charge first

"Your RocBox battery must be charged for 4 hours prior to its first use."

Sorry about the delay

I had to leave to go help a friend yesterday an didn't get back home to play around with it till late last night.

Now.....

As far as my impressions of the player. The button layout is similar to the earlier generation ipod but the scroll wheel on the side seems a lil flimsy so i know i gotta be carefull using that thing.

The menu is very plain and the player came with a couple songs from Roc-a-fella records. There is also some other stuff pre-loaded onto the player but i haven't checked em out yet.

Here is a pic of the Drives contents under Windows Explorer:

It comes with a Software Disk but all it had on if was stuff i already had installed such as Windows Media Player & Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The only software you really need to install is the RocBox Utility program. Thats because the first thing u need to do after charging the player is go to their support page and get the Firmware upgrade for it. You need the Utility program to install it.

I tried using the Player before doing the firmware update and it was a disaster. -WMP-10 not properly syncing up with it

-Content already on the player not properly showing up on the WMP playlists

-Songs that i transfered to the player showing up in Windows Exploere but not on the Players menu

-Volume levels being very weak

Stuff like that. but the firmware update seemed to have solved those problems.

Overall i like it and it seems to be worth the money
