i still think we should limit the image sizes here like they do in the windows desktop threads. it's getting pretty rediculous how much you have to scroll to the side and how long you have to wait for this thread to load.

make a small image, say 640 pixels wide or so and link to the full size one. it'll make things a lot easier ;)

here we go:

If you plan to img-embed your desktop, please try to keep it at/under 1024x768 and under 60k (It's recommended that you link it, externally)

Stay within the board rules, no matter how yummy you may believe it to be

If you are going to quote, there isn't a need to quote an img-embeded picture - Just don't do it. Please just reference the post by page number/page link/etc.

In the interests of keeping the thread on topic it is strongly urged that you format your posts in the following order:

Theme: Name/where you got it(with link would be nice)

Wallpaper: Name/where you got it(with link would be nice)

Icons: Name/where you got it(with link would be nice)

Programs: Name/where you got it(with link would be nice)

If you have ever seen the screenshots bit over at resexcellence it would be nice to keep it along that style, ie:

Theme/scheme: SS Final Cut Theme by Kevin Husted

Desktop picture: From Monochrom

Visible programs: Safari, FileXaminer CM, PicturePop CM, PathFinder CM, NewOpen CM, ScriptsMenu CM, Fruit Menu, PTH Volume, MenuMeters, Script Menu, PTH Clock

Ok. I am linking to my deskrop images. Thie first liks is to My actual desktop (HUGE, wait for a minute to load), the second is a link to a pic of my Macintosh, to explain why the desktop is so big...lemme know what you all think. BTW, the desktop picture is my own design...I will be more than happy to share my work if we could get a desktop picture thread started...?

thank you, that is absolutely lovely; the perfect size for a preview screenie as well

gah still to big, hehe. the forum is designed to display at 1024 so it is only logical that you would have to have an image smaller than that to make sure there is no horizontal scrolling. i still think 640 is the right size in terms of width. that's what mine are at. looks like 640 would barely fit using the image attachment system.

the horizontal scrolling has nothing to do with how the board is designed, it has to do with what screen res you are running at. If you are running at 1024x768 and someone posts a picture the same size, then of course you will have to scroll over to see it because the rest of the board is there too. If you are like me though and run 1600x1200, then I never have to scroll horizontally. I may be stupid but I am pretty sure this is how it works.
