the horizontal scrolling has nothing to do with how the board is designed, it has to do with what screen res you are running at. If you are running at 1024x768 and someone posts a picture the same size, then of course you will have to scroll over to see it because the rest of the board is there too. If you are like me though and run 1600x1200, then I never have to scroll horizontally. I may be stupid but I am pretty sure this is how it works.

well actually neowin is designed to run at 800 i believe. (minimum) thus making the page accessible to basically everyone with a computer. considering the 12" mac models max out at 1024 and this is a mac forum it would only seem logical that you would want them to be able to view the thread without troubles. i don't know about you, but when i increase my res i do it to be able to have more workspace, not so i can run my web browser at fullscreen to show more whitespace. sure you can say it's all a matter of resolution, but when people are at the max of their computer and still can't view the thread without scrolling sideways, you have problems.

not to mention the huge pics make this thread load slow even when i'm on a cable modem.

of course this is just my opinion.

Yes I agree with you, but the thing is, is that if you have a computer that max's out at 1024x768 and you have to scroll sideways to view the thread, then you will probably have to scroll anyway when looking at the image. So when you click on the image to see it you will still have to scroll. Although it would be nice for people not to have to scroll within in the thread itseld that way all the text stays normal, so that people do not have to scroll to read. It would also be nicer to have 640 thumbnails as I am on 56k sometimes and it would make it load alot faster. I doubt any of this will ever happen though...

and I do think that we should start a yearly thread because the images not showing up at the beginning is kinda pointless IMHO.

I've been dying to post here since Saturday when i got my mac!!! but due to my own stupidity i screwed up my neowin account. luckily the WONDERFUL WONDERFUL MODS fixed it and i love them more and am forever in their debt, or it reset itself. Anyway my first two dtops screenshots

anyway descriptions are there just click on details warning 1280x960 i havent found somehting to scale my images yet, or i just havent looked ;).

    • Sorry to be that guy but, Given Trump won again even after a failed first term it would appear attacking the other side is how to gain Government in America. Voters when it came down to it didn't give a s**t about those Democratic achievements and voted for Trump over an intelligent, qualified mixed race woman. We need to face up to this uncomfortable reality. There are more Americacan voters who support racism and christian bigotry along with defending and supporting pedophilia, adjudicated rapists, multiple time convicted felons etc than those who don't. Btw, that is how the world sees America now. Not that Trump voters care as they attempt to cocoon themselves in a white supremacy bubble.
    • That's not clickbait. Clickbait is headlines like, "You'll never guess what this person looks like now" for example. For goodness sake, take a look around the internet if you think this is clickbait. How do sites survive if people don't click through to articles? How many people in all honesty would have clicked this if it had your suggested headline? You and those upvoting your post won't be happy until the web is a couple of hundred websites all behind a paywall.
