My flat now & then - A walk through time.

I watched a film earlier about time travel. ("Toms Midnight Garden")

Anyway, that got me to thinking about how the area has changed over the years.

I'm 41 this month, and in my lifetime, I have seen alot of changes in the town where I live.

So I looked online for an old map, and found the following. I have joined up the photo from year 2000, and the map from 1897.

Interesting how much things change in such a short amount of time. It's only just over 100 years, and as you can see, where my flat is now, it was all fields.

There was even a "well" nearby to where I live!

Even the year 2000 pic is out of date! Where the words "Old GCHQ" is, it is now all houses, and the GCHQ has been knocked down and rebuilt.!!!

Where do you live, and how has it changed over the years?

Interesting. I read that book when I was younger. Never knew there'd been a film.
