VB 5 Decompiler

The thread name says it all, are there any good ones out there? - preferably free.

I just need it to decompile a simple program I made.

Thanks prasanth, but it doesn't work for me. :(

When I try to start it I get an error:

Cannot find VBRUN300.DLL

aco use google to find the vbrun300.dll. It VB runtime module. Once you have that file the program should work.

its says its a debugger not decompiler

and also its not distributed as a standalone app ( member of devpartner studio) so you will have to buy the whole product

but as always i can be wrong :p

A workable decompiler for VB 4 and up doesn't exist.

Thanks for trying fellas, in the end none of the decompilers I tried worked - even with the vbrun300.dll :(

I had to redo the program from a point which I saved.

Sorry, my bad. There's one that will decompile VB programs into ASM code.

martijn is correct I believe. Decompilers don't exist anymore for VB4 onwards. I remember seeing an old VB3 decompiler, but vb4 and all that.. I'm not too sure if one even exists.

there are no decompilers for vb 4, 5 and 6. the compiler generates some really weird code that isnt normal and decompilers dont understand, it will generate compleatly different code even if you change only 1 character. I found one that could only get me about 3 functions out of a app i wrote, but it was a huge app that spanned many files.
