Sorry but I think you are going slightly OTT here, you're throwing personal insults around when he didn't even start on you. There's just no need to go as far as that.

Raum, take pics of your hotboxed castle.

Good job you aint got a huge ass.

Working out every + skating tons in the summer + uber metabolism + good diet = GG fat. :)

Glad some of you got laughs out of this, that's all I wanted it to be, a fun thread. I just finished my trash can. It took two boxes.

Let's see. Assume there's 1 billion people in America, and half pay taxes. They all pay equal shares, so 2 boxes / 500 million = 0.0000000004

Oooooh, I just costed you all 0.0000000004 cents! Feel the burn!

I think I might try and build a computer case now. :)

thanks for wasting my taxes <snipped>. Watch next year price of stamps is going to go up 0.5

Hahaha, first thing I thought.

But what will more than likely happen, if anything happens at all, is that they will start to make everyone pay for the boxes unless they can prove they own a business. Now that would **** me off. I doubt anything will happen other than making people like this pay a fine for going to the extreme (3K+ boxes).

Actually, no.

The boxes and tape available are for Priority Mail customers, as the boxes are paid for by the money consumers spend to ship things Priority through USPS. That's why they are explicitly for USPS shipping.

Don't believe me and still think it's YOUR tax money paying for it? Call up your local post office and ask.

That's what I was thinking. I'm sure they just use the shipping charges from people shipping with these boxes to cover them.

Maybe if you mean some technical definition of the term 'agency', but otherwise, um, yes it is. :/

It was created by Congress (its creation is one of the powers granted to the federal government in the Constitution), originally as a department within the Cabinet. Nixon later re-organised the postal system, and the modern US Postal Service was founded as a government-owned corporation. The Board of Governors of the USPS are appointed by the President and then confirmed by the Senate.

United States Postal Service

The Post Office Department was transformed into the United States Postal Service, an independent establishment of the executive branch of the Government of the United States. The mission of the Postal Service remained the same, as stated in Title 39 of the U.S. Code:

The Postal Service shall have as its basic function the obligation to provide postal services to bind the Nation together through the personal, educational, literary, and business correspondence of the people. It shall provide prompt, reliable, and efficient services to patrons in all areas and shall render postal services to all communities.

The new Postal Service officially began operations on July 1, 1971, when the Postmaster General ceased to be a member of the President?s cabinet. The Postal Service receive

Operational authority vested in a Board of Governors and Postal Service executive management, rather than in Congress.b>

It operates like a business, not a government agency.

Right, but it's owned and (more or less) run by the government. Which makes it a government agency, unless you are using the technical definition of the word 'agency' (which i learnt in school, but i don't remember it specifically at the moment).... Yes? :/

I ordered one (it had 25 boxes in it) and I managed to cover half a wall with it.

I ordered 2 more (50 boxes), but I'm worried what my Mom will say (she got suspicious when the first order came in, and thinks I'm doing something while she's away).

Hahah, awsome. I'm lining one of my walls in them soon.

Cake: Yep, BH. :p

    • What I like about Paint is using it almost exclusively for cropping and resizing images I get elsewhere--it's quick, easy and cheap... I keep it glued to my taskbar, in fact. Also, the clipping tool comes in handy, as well (hit print scrn on the keyboard and it activates immediately.)
    • I still remember it fondly today. It was so cool to work in 64-color Half Bright mode and 4.096-color HAM mode (interlaced) when x86 was still in 4-color CGA or 16-color EGA low res. C= never realized what it had until it was far too late--the failure of C= was the failure of its top management. The C= Amiga was 20 years ahead of its time, I always thought. It didn't hurt that in only 512k of chip memory, the Amiga could preemptively multitask when Apple was still doing gray scale graphics on tiny screens and along with everyone else was doing cooperative multitasking (running more than one app at a time in resident memory, but you could only run one of them at a time--had to manually switch between them.) I had a ball with AREXX scripting running between programs that had AREXX ports so that when you sent other applications data and instructions, those running applications could process the same in real time to output! Memories...
    • I'm not sure about that, but it at least "does" a version of 7.1 that this brand new card doesn't....

    • I can barely recall getting web results from a file search... I must've turned it off long ago. 26H2 is Insider's Preview build 26300.8697, which I am running, atm. It is not available for people running the standard commercial builds of Windows--only for the beta test Insider's group. But anyway, as mentioned in the thread, this feature has been around for a long time...
