Adaware Does Not Run

Hi!

Okay, I have 16 computers that I have installed Adaware on. I downloaded from Download.com and stuck that exe in my shared folder, and then just installed it all from that same place on each machine.

Now, when I come to run it, some machines run it and connect to the update server, and everything nicely. Some machines try to update but cant and then crash. Some machines take like 5 mins to finish loading the definition files, and then some dont get past loading them and crash out on me. However, it seems they will ALL run in Safe Mode <-- BUT, they cannot update their definitions that way.

I am just wondering if there are any issues with running Adaware in 98?

I am new-ish to the school and the computers have more or less never been scanned. So much that on one PC alone, there are over 500 objects of spyware that Adaware catches (we have Spybot installed to).

My first point of thought would be something that we're running at Startup, but I have looked, and cant see anything, even tried stuff.

It is just strange how some will run it, and some wont :/

Some computers might already have a few bugs or might just be messed up. They are school computers, after all.

download and copy the latest Defs file to the Ad-Aware folder this will overwite the existing one and then reboot into safe mode.

this should get you round this problem.
