question.... is there a reason I can't figure out how to install it?  Doesn't seem to be an .exe or .msi...  All I got is a 40.9mb "Longhorn" file...

help out my retardedness... gracias...

I had that problem too initially. The extension should be .rar, just rename it and it'll work fine.

anyone know if the standalone exe replacement file only contains the boot screen? or does it have other files as well..

i like my current bootscreen...so if I don't need to install the exe because it is only a bootscreen, I don't think I will, but i want to know if I will miss out on other goodness...

I think the Boot Screen is in the LH Refined XT package. The reason you have to uncheck the .EXE file component is that the Boot Screen is buggy and can mess up your XP installation. The patch does not replace your current boot screen or the default boot screen. It installs the other .EXE files without installing the Boot Screen.

Okay. You've done everything right so far. All you need to do now is use the visual style(s) that came with the LH Refined XT package, and use the flower wallpaper.

Oh, never mind about that then, Section 31.

I tried.. :p

aman01 - It won't crash your computer as long as you do everything right. It's quite simple actually. Just uncheck the .EXE file component in the files component checklist while installing LH Refined XT. Then once you are done installing it get the patch and install that.
