This is an indication that people need to download via BitTorrent rather than overusing the mirrors. Learn it, use it, and benefit everyone! If you had provided that file over the BitTorrent network, you wouldn't have used as much bandwidth, you'd have encouraged more to use BitTorrent, and your server could go up and down without affecting the reliability of the download. Now I suppose we have dead links to clean up.

I need a connection at home that can upload 250GB in 4 days.

Which version of the autopatcher makes sense for me to use when I have an XPSP2 Pro that is not bootable and I want it to be bootabl as well as slipstreamed up till may of this year. there are 3 filechoices available to download, and it is not clear to me what is missing in my XPSp2 Pro so I can decide which version,

the full

the update

or the middle size one.

Full contains everything

Lite contains less addons

Update is for updating the previous version

i wouldnt download anything yet though, the june release will be out sometime soon

Last minute thinking, since I slipstreamed with the full update of May I could just do the June Minimal Update download, right? and slipstream my May slipstreamed version on my Hard drive...which I plan to make bootable and switch from win2kPro SP4 to This Xp Version.

Ohh another question what can I use to make XP look like win2k on my desktop and have access to windows explorer, possibly opening up after quit to the same place I left off rather than to a default place every time I reopen

Edited by Man_Nxt_Dr

yep, you can use the xp june update version to update the may release

not sure when itll come out, ive only just released the 2K version and we might wait a few days to easy the load off the servers.

to make XP look like 2K, just turn off the XP theme - right click the desktop, select the classic theme in the drop menu, and apply.

Quoting myself from the first post:

Torrents

BitTorrent is a P2P system that makes transfering large files (or groups of files) amongst a large group of people easy, fast and efficient. The BitTorrent network is impressive mostly for the speed and reliability with which you get files that have been recently released. As long as a .torrent file has enough people sharing then you can be assured that it will start quickly and maintain a good download speed.

Always remember to leave your BitTorrent client open to help distribute the files!

In order to download AutoPatcher via the BitTorrent network, you'll need a "Torrent Client", such as ABC, G3 Torrent, Azureus etc. Grab the .torrent files from the links found in the first post.

The June release is almost ready for release, so hold your fire!

Excuse me but what is BitTorrent , how do I use it and download it.

1) Get the BitTorrent protocol manager: http://www.bittorrent.com/

2) A crude client is included that works just fine. If you want something more, there are many clients and I use http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ .

3) Download the .torrent file of something you are interested in. The .torrent file is a small file that has all the information that a Torrent client needs to go out and get the real files. Torrents for APXP are listed in the first message of this thread. If the .torrent doesn't send itself to your client, put it there manually and the file will begin to download.

Still time to include 900930, update to OE (requires SP2)? Came out on 17 June

June release is already mirrored...

I guess it'll have to wait until July's release

As M2Ys4U said, it will only be included in July's version, because Microsoft only released it after AutoPatcher had been uploaded to servers (it was released after Microsoft "patching day").

    • Ladybird Browser is no longer accepting outside contributions thanks to AI by David Uzondu The Ladybird Browser Project has announced it will no longer accept public pull requests and will limit changes to those made by its maintainers as it works towards its first alpha release. According to Ladybird's creator Andreas Kling, this is "not a change we make lightly," but the rapid shift in AI capabilities forced their hand. Previously, a massive PR implied that the person behind it put a lot of care into the code and is ready to "answer for the consequences." Now with AI, anyone can generate a PR without even understanding the bug fix or feature they want merged. The blog post goes on to say that the team is closing all open public pull requests immediately, and that maintainers will not treat external forks as a review queue for upstream Ladybird. Instead, the team wants outside contributors to focus on reporting bugs and running tests. Kling started Ladybird back in 2019 as LibHTML, a simple HTML viewer for his hobby operating system, SerenityOS, but by September 2022, it had turned into a full-fledged browser project. What sets Ladybird apart from the likes of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, or Mozilla Firefox is its totally independent engine, which does not rely on pre-existing codebases. The project maintains a strict policy against default search engine deals or user data monetization, keeping development funded entirely by donations and sponsorships. Generative AI is forcing open source project maintainers to rethink how they handle public code contributions (and the whole open-source thing in general). One month ago, a leak about the National Health Service (NHS) suggested the organization was planning to take all of its public repositories private ahead of a May 11 deadline, thanks to Mythos (an AI model that Anthropic believes is too dangerous to be released to the public) and its ability to find and write exploits for zero-day vulnerabilities. Thankfully, the Government Digital Service (GDS) issued a counter-report titled "AI, open code and vulnerability risk in the public sector" that stopped the shutdown by pointing out that hiding code does not improve security.

    • I like the show more options. The only problem with it is that it's not always in a consistent spot in the menu. If the copy/paste/cut, happens to show on top, then more option is the last in the menu. But if copy/paste/cut happens to show on the bottom, then more options is before the copy/paste/cut. But I do like the more options because it hides the stuff that I rarely use. But I would like to choose what it is or isn't hiding. That would make it better.
