Koyder
Use the export function. But you'll need QuickTime Pro to be able to use it. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/301780-saving-a-mid-file-on-a-mac/#findComment-585684396 Share on other sites

SFNE Freak
I don't think Quicktime can do it. Check here. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/301780-saving-a-mid-file-on-a-mac/#findComment-585692118 Share on other sites
Koyder
I don't see midi as one of the options in export.... 585689009[/snapback] You won't be able to export an MP3 or AIFF file into MIDI. But QuickTime does support basic editing of an existing MIDI file (cut, copy, paste, trim) and exporting the modified version into a new MIDI file. radioboy
a midi file contains no actual sound data, it's simply a string of notes and instrument information that tells your sound card what to play... kind of like a roll from a player piano hence you can't turn an mp3 or wav in to a midi, it'd be like trying to play a CD in a player piano Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/301780-saving-a-mid-file-on-a-mac/#findComment-585693071 Share on other sites
