Cant Use iPod Shuffle On 2 PC's?

Recommended Posts

My gf has an ipod shuffle, and transfers mp3s from her computer onto it. We installed iTunes off the cd onto my pc, and connected the ipod. When I opened iTunes it asked me something about changing the link to the library, and when I clicked yes it had wiped the ipod. Is there any way of being able to transfer songs off both pc's without wiping everything off each time?

None that i know of. I used my (now missing) shuffle on two seperate comps too and i just let it wipe it out every time. if you're tryin to trade mp3's with her or something i'd just suggest putting them on using the ipod as a usb drive.. know what i mean?

Its not to trade mp3s with her, its just so that if she fancies any tunes off my pc she can take them, although what you said about using it as a usb drive is a good idea.. she could take them to her pc then and copy them over when she felt like it. If there are any ways of using 1 shuffle between 2 pc's though it would be good to know :)

That type of tranfer you're looking for isn't supported on any iPod (updating the computers with what's on your iPod). I think there are apps that allow you to get your music files off the iPod, though. Google may be your friend on this one...

Can't you just click no when it asks you about linking the library? You can still transfer music manually through iTunes after this, IIRC. You need to turn auto sync off on both PCs though, I believe. This is what I did with my friend's iPod when he brought it over to get some tunes.

When they said in the other thread that it belongs here, you didnt need to create a 2nd post, the mods will eventually move it.

where my response was....

All you have to do is set your iPod to manually update in the iTunes settings, not automatically.  That will allow you to use it on multiple machines.

That only applies to iPod, iPod Mini and iPod Photo. They DO have the ability of being connected to multiple machines to add music/playback, again in manual mode

Shuffles can only be connected to one computer at a time, there is no method around this, and is not supported in any way shape or form, check apple's website and the documentation that came in box!

    • Microsoft brings Planner Agent to all Microsoft 365 Copilot users by Ivan Jenic Image: Microsoft Microsoft has announced that Planner Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot is now generally available to all users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Planner Agent is the latest addition in the string of AI features that Microsoft is implementing across virtually all of its products. The agent lets you manage tasks through natural language prompts directly inside Microsoft 365 Copilot. You can create and update tasks, check priorities, and get insights about current entries without leaving the chat interface. The general availability release comes with a handful of new additions on top of what was available during the initial rollout. A new plan picker lets you search and filter your plans by name, then update task names, statuses, due dates, or priorities through the agent. There's also a goals bucket now, which lets you group tasks under specific goals. This builds on the Goals view, a feature that was introduced as part of the broader Planner refresh that rolled out earlier. Image: Microsoft | Planner Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot All AI-generated plans and tasks are created in draft mode by default, so you can review and approve changes before anything goes through. This is actually a thoughtful safety feature, because trusting AI to handle all your tasks without a human in the loop is usually a recipe for disaster. Having tasks initially saved as drafts is the best possible middle ground. Microsoft also says that not all tasks are executed equally. Simple tasks get processed quickly, while more complex ones, like building a plan from a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file, are handed to a more capable model. Microsoft says this approach delivers the best performance, but it could also help with usage management, as you won't have to waste tokens on performing simple tasks. Planner Agent is available now across Teams, Loop, SharePoint, and other Microsoft 365 apps for anyone on a Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription.
