Sk8r dudes who listen to rock and 'Mosh'  :punk:

585716437

Erm excuse me, I don?t know if you are joking, but I?m actually quite offended by this..

Id probably class myself as a skater/surfer/mosher dude (whatever its called nowadays), i used to blade, and skateboard.. but not as much anymore because I don?t really have time but i would if i could! However, even though I listen to a wide spectrum of music (this includes rock and i do go to 'rock' clubs on occasion) there seem no basis in this fact on which to place a prejudice on a group of people..

For the record, I also go to RnB, and Dance clubs and the other night I spent half the evening in a rock club listening to some pretty coarse metal and the rest in the local 'trendy' night spot both having an equally good time.

The reason people dislike 'chavs' is a damn good one. They are often quite threatening in behaviour with their hanging around on street corners in large groups, older ones usually leech of the state, having nothing to do most days and basically they have nothing for anyone to aspire too or look up to in them and what?s worse is that they are often too stupid to even realise it.

What I have described above, is, unequivocally, a rampant stereotype of the lowest class in British society.. but that is my definition of a worse case scenario chav and it is a shame that people paint the whole of most of this underclass in a similar manner.. because it isn?t all like this.

The same painting with a similar brush seems to go with how you put it 'moshers' now I agree that they can also sometimes come across threatening with many having piercings and tattoos etc, but these people are some of the most intelligent I have ever met, and great to talk to, they have their own interesting opinions, can hold a decent conversation and don?t want to start fights all of the time. Having said that iv met some pretty cool chavs at Uni, not nearly as many as I have alternative dudes though (a:D dudettes :D)

So please, next time when you rampant stereotype someone either give reasons or just be quiet because it is plain to see that chavs are the manky underbelly of society today and quite frankly the alternative scene patently isn?t (well some of them are) but nothing compared to the 'chav culture' because skater / mosh is a lifestyle choice, not something they were born into on a council estate.

Sorry for the rant.. feel free :) argue back :)

Chav=Scum

They all need to be gathered up, sailed out to see on a large ship and then have as many rockets fired at it as possible.

I have yet to meet a nice one and I have met alot. They all think that they are so clever, and hard and cool. Their just scum.

I skate but why should i have to walk down the road being abused by little f***ing idiots who think shouting "Grunger!" behind me makes them look hard.

I blame schools and parents for not disciplining them enough. I got punched in the face while in a gcse EXAM by some little p***k. His reason was "He's a grunger." The school banned him from school for just one day while forcing me to take an exam covered in blood and semi conscious. What kind of discipline is that? They should of brought back the cane long ago.

Another example is when a friend and I were out skating at the local skate park. There was some little kid there who was nine on a BMX being an idiot. We just ignored him. My friend brought his bike but left it chained to the railing because he wanted to skate. The little kid came upto us and said "who's bike's that blud". My friend said it was his and the kid walks two feet behind us and says to his friend "Lets go get some bolt cutters, we can have that bike". He is dumb? Does he think we cant hear him? Any parent that lets their child get like that need to be out onto the ship too.

After that when we tried to leave he flicked out his knife and said "you got phones blud?". What the hell are you you supposed to do to a nine year old with a knife? You cant hit a little kid. In the end my friend just grabbed the knife from him and threw it onto a roof.

I blame the parents mostly. People say don't blame them its not their fault how the kid turned out. Most of the time the parents are just older versions of scum.

They should all be wiped off of the face of the earth.

</rant>

Sory about ranting but they really p*ss me off.

Jesus f'ing christ.

We dont need to know about certain people you hate. We've had these threads too many times before. You don't see us making tons of threads about rednecks, republicans (:D), or anyone else that we personally dislike. Just put it in an LJ

(Yes, I do have a Live Journal, but I'm not the stereotypical emo, cutter, etc. that uses it)

Well said!

Personally I cannot stand them, My neighbourhood has been taken over by them, when there not hanging out around the shops, there beside my house on a tiny patch of grass riding there "modified to make them noiser" motorbikes, some are even in there 30's. Believe me the noise is unbearable and constant everyday, and i hate the way they make me feel, I feel like grabing a rifle and blowing up their gas tanks. I've seen kids brake into cars, smash windows, throw things at pensioners the list goes on, and they get away with it everytime. The sooner something is done about these vermin the better!

Cheers for agreeing with me you guys :)

Before i sterotype? He asked what a mosher was, i told him.

585716641

Ah, I apologise. I was referring to a previous post where you just said..

I hate them. They are the dregs of the earth.

They need to be classified as vermin and hunted with high power rifles.

585716369

I feel the same about moshers.

Sorry for the misunderstanding

I guess im classed as a "mosher" then. But i really do hate some of those people that hang around in their Burberry or whatever. And u never really see 1 or 2 chavs together, there has to be at least 10 of them.(I wonder why).

Where i live has always been a relatively calm town, now all the chavs come around, the place has become a complete sh*t hole. Rubbish everywhere, cars broken into, shops broken into. And they all seem to smoke drugs everyday, drink everyday. And they are always the dumb ones at school. But i dont know if thats the same in other places.

Its a shame that it has come to this, people being seperated because of what they wear, what they do and what sort of music that they listen to. And my brother dresses like a chav, and we have never really been bothered about what we wear and what we listen to. We just get on with it, and dont let it lead to fighting and argueing.

Sorry for ranting as well, but its something big that is changing britain, and im not sure about other countries.

    • Microsoft's new Xbox Shutdown change promises massive power efficiency gains by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Microsoft has been delivering a lot of changes for Xbox Insiders to test in recent weeks, and today, another wave of changes aimed at consoles was announced. The latest drop is testing features that let users find mutual friends easier, customize their UI, and streamline wishlisting. When looking at an Xbox friend's profile, an option will appear to see mutual friends, perhaps to get a refresher on how you know that person. This will depend on the privacy settings. The same applies to when checking the profile of a person who is not in the friends list, offering a quick way to find out if this is a known connection. Next, Microsoft is giving the option to change how the 'Home' and 'Games & Apps' sections show off available games. There is a new poster style that users can enable for an "immersive library experience." "We’ve also made personalization settings easier to navigate and customize by separating Home and My Games & apps into separate sections," adds the company. "And to make personalization even more accessible, we’ve added new shortcuts throughout menus, so you can quickly jump in and tailor your XBOX experience the way you want." Moreover, heading to the store page of an unreleased game will now offer players the option to wishlist directly from the game card. Lastly, Microsoft is making a change to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles that are in Sleep mode, making them use the more energy-saving 'Shutdown' mode instead automatically. The company says this can increase power savings by up to 20 times without impacting "performance, gameplay, or your ability to receive system, games or apps updates overnight." The only down side seems to be a longer startup time that can take up to 45 seconds. The setting was originally introduced in 2023, and this is only the latest update to it. The power option can be changed from the console settings at any time. This Xbox Insider update is rolling out today to select members of the program. As usual, Microsoft aims to bring it to more Insiders over time before they reach all Xbox owners. Head here to find out how to join the Xbox Insider Program to get a chance to test these features and upcoming ones on both consoles and PC.
    • 2 was a fun game but felt a bit shallow, like not enough there. I hope this expansion fixes that.
